Please advise.This is a much awaited social event as well as an excellently organized family fun off Road event and in my experience in the last 14 years that I have been volunteering as a Marshal in the Fun Drive, the registration for the GNFD is typically full on the first day that the advertisement appears in the Gulf News paper…so one ha to be really quick to get a slot in the barely 500 participants that are registered.
You can still probably try in the waiting list and maybe take a chance on the Drive Day itself as ometimes some slot may fall vacant due to no show by some registered participants.

Hi Friends, whats the plan of action for GNFD? Meeting point, time etc? Are we going to drive as a group or not? :-\
Meeting Time 0545
Departure time 0555 Sharp, with NO delays.Meeting Point ADNOC Ghantoot, This is the first ADNOC on the way to Abu Dhabi.
We will proceed in a convoy to Mafraq Hotel,
The Convoy will break into two just prior to the Mafraq Hotel entrance with the Participants following Mohammed Thanseer to the Participants Parking and the Marshals following me (GNFD Marshal No. 9) to the Marshals Parking.The Participants will start departing the hotel at 0730Hrs. and the earliest arrival are expected at the base camp at Tal Moreeb at 1600Hrs.

Shall we meet on registration point at Mafraq Hotel? we are planning to leave early and some of them is going to stay at abu dhabi.
I will follow Ashok and meet you guys at the hotel parking.

So what is the final shape of convoy?? As Club’s GNFD Marshal mus be busy with there own tasks, who will lead our convoy?
Do we need to carry the extra fuel or is there any arrangement to refill in between of drive since it is more than 300 kms offroading.

Participants will be led by Thanseer. Extra fuel or not is at your discretion. If you normally carry extra fuel and feel more comfortable that way, feel free to carry it. Although I am sure there will be arrangements but there will also be long lines of vehicles trying to get fuel.
