Hello ………..
lets celebrate holi (festival of colors) in the desert..
your suggestions are always welcome..
we will celebrate it on 13th of March…..if we get minimum 15 cars confirmation.. it will be full day trip… say about 10 we can start the drive and we will have nice BBQ in the afternoon… after the lunch we will start playing with the colors…
Holi (Hindi: होली) is a popular, Hindu spring festival, observed in North India and Nepal, also called the Festival of Colours. In West Bengal, it is known as Dolyatra (Doljatra) or Boshonto Utsav (“spring festival”).
On the first day, bonfires are lit at night to signify burning the demoness Holika, Hiranyakashipu’s sister.
On the second day, known as Dhuleti, people spend the day throwing coloured powder and water at each other.
The spring season, during which the weather changes, is believed to cause viral fever and cold. Thus, the playful throwing of the coloured powders has a medicinal significance: the colours are traditionally made of Neem, Kumkum, Haldi, Bilva, and other medicinal herbs prescribed by Āyurvedic doctors.

Couple of corrections…umm…alterations…
Holi…the play of colours is in the morning…not post lunch…
One is supposed to finish playing with colours & have a bath at noon time.
It may be good if we are able to make some arrangements in one of the farms, where sufficient water is available to do justice to the spirit of Holi…
If we meet up at 0900Hrs. Drive for a couple of hours…play Holi, have Holi Lunch…Pooris & Gujiya & Thandai…all the traditional stuff & be back by 1600Hrs., the idea may be workable…
Alternatively we could hire a Chalet on the beach, for the day…in UAQ & celebrate Holi in the Sea…in this case the festivities could start a day before…who so ever wants could sleep in the Chalet or on the beach…
Suggestions/ recommendations, please.
