It looks like this Thursday may be an official holiday. I am thinking about a short camping trip somewhere close by for Wednesday and maybe Thursday night too. Would anyone be interested? I would not plan on any dune bashing without the appropriate marshal/ranger support but if there are marshals/rangers interested too then it could be a good opportunity for camping with early morning/afternoon/evening/night drives too.
Thoughts?? Suggestions for good camping spot??

Hey Matt,
Al Qudra lakes would be a good option for a short camping trip. Although we cannot camp directly on the lake, but if we move 10 minutes away, there should be no issues. Another option would be Ghost town 😀 but requires more guts :-ss and more driving in the sand. Maybe @Denis Marian would be interested in leading the :drive: ? I have the coordinates and can get us there, but like you said, we need the presence/approval of a Marshall. If still interested, let us coordinate further.

I might be posting a thursday afternoon drive, wont be there for overnight though!
It will be a laidback fewbie+ drive only.

Let’s do a fewbie Qudra lakes, and before reaching the lakes, those who want (like me for example) can stay and set camp. We can do the same for Ghost town (a bit more challenging) but a great place for an overnight camp. Plenty of Almza in my cool box 😉

Sounds great. I am planning to camp tomorrow night at qudra lake and thursday nite whereever we land. So if you are up for camping wednesday night lets meet up. Thursday afternoon drive sounds great. Thanks Joe for leading us!!
