Hi Friends,
Let me share some of my experience with you all, that most of the people don’t give much preference for that.
Recently I had fixed Siam tires. Done the wheel balancing and alignment. When I start driving, I couldn’t drive the car above 60 Km/h. When the needle touches 61 the car was shaking like a vibrator. My mind was set by hearing from others that the Siam tires will wobble until the air in the tire gets warm. So I thought it might be because of that reason and in my car tire, air will be not getting warm. I was blaming the Siam tire; what a bad tire I brought!!! But, it is the best tire for the desert, no doubt about it.
After a time full thought I decided to do the wheel balancing again from my regular tire shop. I took the car there and done the wheel balancing from there. What a miracle! I drove the car just from starting without any warm up for tires, up to 160 Km/h. (I couldn’t get chance to drive above that) without any vibration or wobble.
The guy who fixed the tires first, didn’t do the proper wheel balancing. That’s why it was giving uncomfortable drive. Especially like Siam tires, it will transfer the power from axle with least power lose than other tires due to the thickness of the tire’s side wall. (8Ply compare to 2 or 3Ply). So you have to expect vice versa from the Road too. But now I am happy with it.
So, proper wheel balancing is very important for a smooth drive.
