Defenitely Sam…u should
just let me the total count….wl arrange brkfst for everyone…
CheersWhat a beautiful morning drive….first of all let me thank everyone who came for the drive….
We all met at Tawi Nizwa shops at 6.30am and kissed the sand by 7 am….Sam led the convoy followed by Robinson, Ashok, Firoz, myself, Humayun, Gerry, Satvinder, Khalil, Jayesh & GKumar as the sweep….Nice to see Khalil with his new fj cruiser. It was a hard day for everyone as we had plenty of stucks….Rob has his best day of his offroading history following Sam’s desert toy….Except GKumar, everyone had experienced stucks…..Firoz started the game…then followed by Rob for a couple of times….we had to reach Iftar bowl somehow….and Sam made us experience very tricky and soft sand dunes…..It was indeed a high class intermediate drive…..Thanks Sam for the wonderful lead…..Each one of us was involved in pulling some or the other car…..We reached at a particular bowl which was tricky one to come out….Firoz had his 2 tyres popped out and our rescue team had to face some challenging time to rectify it….the best part was to come out of that bowl….and then we headed towards Iftar bowl…..at a particular point Jayesh got stuck very badly and nearly everyone tried to pull him off and after some time we recovered him…..
finally nearly about 11 am we reached Iftar bowl and as promised by me, we had the breakfast with some nice chillers and tea….also some pizza bites coutesy Firoz…..i hope everyone liked the breakfast and im sorry if the tea had become cold as we were actually too late for that…..then we finished the brkfst quickly and headed towards the road led by G Kumar and Ashok…..inflated the tyres at the meeting point and left to our repective homes……
In all, the drive was indeed long and very challenging as we had to face real soft sands….
Thank you Sam for the awesome drive. :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: …
see you all soon for the next drive …..Pics will be followed soon…
Also need to know the report of the evening drive pls…….Cheers
Ganesh, if you have posted this report a little earlier, it would have saved my time for the report ๐ You have summarized the report very well :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: I was making report seeing Ricardo’s demand. Since I completed the report, I will post it. Ricardo should be happy now – he asked for one and got two ๐
I will say it was a tough drive, but filled with lot of fun ๐
The drive started late by around 40 minutes at 7.10am from the scheduled time of 6.30am, after convoy briefing by lead marshal Sam The Man. Support team was quite strong with Khalil, Satwinder and myself at sweep along with Gerry and Humayun. Probably that could be the reason for the drive being quite difficult ๐
As expected, the drive over pyramids was really challenging for the convoy. To certain extend, it is a fact that the convoy couldnโt cope up with the challenge thrown by Sam. The drive around pyramids, created lots of hiccups at the soft sand patches, losing driveโs momentum. We had even a twin pop out for one the member in a tricky bowl.
Scorching sun made the recoveries painful and stressful. Gerry and Humayun deserve special appreciation for their hard efforts in recovery, braving the heat and mild sand storm :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: Despite all these hurdles, the convoy reached very safely at the final destination โ Iftar Bowl.
As mentioned earlier, though the drive was tough, we all had good fun and enjoyed all the problems we faced ๐ Jeepโs repeated attempts to pull a badly struck Ford truck were one among them. It looked so funny, which reminded the fairytale โAnt and the Elephantโ :)) =))
Since few of the convoy members were finding it difficult to tackle the soft dunes behind Iftar bowl, the convoy got split into two; one with 4 cars was led to Iftar bowl by myself and the rest by Sam. We reached Iftar bowl very late by 11am, thereby the planned breakfast turned out to be a brunch ๐
By then most of us were almost exhausted in the hot sun and the refreshment break, helped a lot to recharge. Special thanks to Ganesh for the great hospitality and the efforts for arranging a very good breakfast โ aloo paratha, chatney & curd :thanks: We also had some โchillersโ as coolant for ourselves. Rob got the opportunity to accomplish his mission of desert cleaning, Gerry and Humayun could neutralize their adrenalin rush by climbing Iftar bowl. We winded up the refreshment break quickly due to the heat and headed to Badayer, inflated and headed home by around 12pm.
Thank you Sam for the excellent and challenging lead. Good drive by Ganesh and Rob with very few hiccups. Jayesh and Firoz – good attempt of an intermediate level drive. Ashok and Khalil tamed very well their respective new toys. Satwinder, Gerry and Humayun โ excellent job at recovery which made my life very easy at sweep :p
Thank you all for the great company and support, making this drive a memorable one. Look forward to see you all again in sand, very soon. :thanks: :drive:

Thanks Sam for your lovely appreciation….A driver gets perfect when he follows the footsteps of a good lead marshal like you and other marshals in our club..
Cheers.. ๐That was a very challenging drive for me. Following Sam was fun but clearly needs more practice from my part, so I am for the challenge again! :drive: :drive:
