Hello I’m new in off roading, all my experience was always like a passenger, so I want to learn about off roading techniques, improving my driving skills, learning from experienced drivers like DO menbers.
Name: Manolo Bermudez
Car : Dodge Durango 2002 with body lift, front metal bumper and skid plate
Ocupation : Electromechanical Engineer
Thanks for letting me be part of your club
Hello All
My name is Willem Rudolph or just “Will”. I am a Newbie to Dubai, and while I have basically grown up with MX/Enduro Bikes/Quads and Adventure Bikes, I am a complete novice to 4×4 offroading. I am from South Africa and have recently moved here with my family. My objective with getting into the Dubai 4×4 offroad scene is to explore, as much as possible, this great country with my family, while staying in touch with the outdoors and our love for camping. I have purchased a new 2014 FJ Cruiser Extreme (have always been a Toyota fan) – and I have been driving it for about 3 weeks now. I am completely impressed with my ride and cant wait to take my family out on our first “offroad” experience. I am not one for the highly commercialised clubs and in a way prefer the more personal and smaller circles of people who are just out there to enjoy the experience and to share it with other like-minded individuals. Right now, I am using every available moment to research options/techniques/routes and to gain as much theoretical experience as I can about 4×4 offroading…while also making contact with people like you, to get a view of the options/mindsets out there. I will post a separate item with my initial list of 100 questions 🙂 and look forward to hearing from the members of Dubai Offroaders.
Thanks,
Will.Hi everyone, I’m Neal.

Vehicle: Toyota Tundra 1794 edition. No mods, absolutely stock (although I’m open to suggestions).
Occupation: Security and investigations – financial services sector
Offroading: I used to regularly compete offroad in an unmodified vehicle class (Nissan Patrol) but never, ever offroaded properly on sand so am treating myself as a total novice/newbieI’m just in the process of getting together all the kit advised and will aim to join a newbie drive with the coming few weeks – looking forward to meeting you all in due course.
Any advice re purchasing equipment here in Dubai is welcome
Hello and welcome to our friendly club Manolo, Will, Neal & Joe!
You can start by having a radio, flag, deflator and a gage.
These are the main safety requirements.
An air compressor is highly desirable for your own convenience.
Everthing else will come by itself.
Cheers and hope to see you all soon in sands!Name: Pavel Haldar
Vehicle: Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited 2014
Occupation: Senior Engineer (Civil/Marine) at BAM International
Off-roading: Since 2010 when I first got my license in UAE and got the Toyota Pick Up truck from my previous employer. 😀 . My job allows me to go off-road to monitor excavation works on desert. since then I have grown my interest for off-road driving. It became passion when my fiancée forced me to buy the Jeep Wrangler sport 2012. I have been around on desert driving with few off-roading groups such UAE Offroaders, Jeepers Club in last season. But unfortunately I had to stop as I rolled over my Jeep to the point until it declared right off in this year March 🙁 . Now I am back with my Rubicon Unlimited 2014 B-), even though it is not yet delivered to me, most probably this Saturday (01-Nov-14) I will receive that. but I am super duper excited by thinking I will be able to drive off road soon :ymapplause: . Looking forward for exciting off-road experience with you guys. :thanks:quote pavel79:Name: Pavel Haldar
