The desert environment is the world around us. It includes the air we breathe, the wildlife and the sand we drive and enjoy!
Our environment is fragile and requires humans’ support. We don’t have to go far to find desert, wadis, water or air that has been abused by humans. We all know that littering and polluting is bad for the environment, so why the humans are still doing it? Let’s join our forces and make a commitment to protect our natural environment!
We are asking all visitors to desert, to support us, to spread a word, to change their behaviour. We are asking all Environment and Government organizations to apply measures that can contribute to humans’ environmental education. The annual event, to clean a square mile from garbage, is not a solution, unless humans start to behave responsibly. It’s our world. We don’t ask desert visitors to collect garbage, we ask all not to litter.
We strive in this campaign to increase awareness for clean desert and do not littering.
What you brought in, take it out.
This post should be quoted on every topic where we have a BBQ event, as I recently posted on the March 8th event,
CARRY OUT WHAT YOU CARRY IN, IMAGINE HAVING A BBQ IN A FRIENDS GARDEN, AND WALKING AWAY LEAVING YOUR CRAP BEHIND.
This desert we have is there for all, it doesn’t matter what others do lead by exampleMarch 10, 2013 at 8:06 am #24456quote brianj:This post should be quoted on every topic where we have a BBQ event, as I recently posted on the March 8th event,CARRY OUT WHAT YOU CARRY IN, IMAGINE HAVING A BBQ IN A FRIENDS GARDEN, AND WALKING AWAY LEAVING YOUR CRAP BEHIND.

Nice! Now I don’t feel alone with this task any more! We started this initiative time ago in DO’s and happy to see new support. Take a look at one of the posters delivered during last year’s drives, and hope we continue. Part of the required equipment for all DO’s include trash bags also!

:thanks: winchmanThis is part of an awareness campaign to keep the trash issue up front in participants minds. Part of DO’s motto is “we leave no one behind”, by extension we should also think that we leave nothing behind,
Carry Out what you Carry In

Alhamdulillah, be it the beach, desert or mountains, I make it a point to teach my kids by example to leave our site cleaner than it was when we came.
I am proud to say that now they remind me not to leave the plastic cup or a used tissue that blew away and is still visible.
Indeed well put Mon Ami
