The newbie convoy had a truly action packed drive. I specially enjoyed the section between the fossil rock and al faya dune, where we had to keep a high momentum to overcome the soft sand. I was surprised we could pass over a challenging “U”, but with John’s instructions it was quite easy. Thanks @John.Xterra and @anastb for organizing this great drive.
Newbie drive was great! I had not driven at the newbie level for over 2 years. It was a challenge for me to bring down the level 🙂
The drive was really nice and smooth we passed across different landmarks; Fossil rock first where we all enjoyed the beautiful views from the top, returned down from the same side of the rock towards Camel rock (however the Camel was asleep when we reached). We then reached an interesting area where the newbie guys had to use their skills and try to make it through some small technical dunes and soft sand. Our finish point was Al Faya (what better way to end the drive), some members experienced the Faya phenomenon for the first time and it was nice to see their reactions 🙂
Everyone drove very well, few second attempts, one recovery performed only. Thanks @Jai for the second lead and thanks @anastb for the sweep support.
It was fun and I look forward to driving with all of you guys again soon!
