October 15, 2013 at 6:13 am #27644quote Cesar Crusat:Here we go!!!! This will be my second trip with you guys.I have a friend who wants to join us. He has a Santa Fe.
Any suggestion for him abou his car? Do you think he can come with us?
Santa Fe, even though equipped with a nice V6 3.2 Litre engine is not an offroad vehicle as per Dubai offroader’s definition, but again…it should be able to tackle most terrains in the right hands. The combination of a lesser capable vehicle and a new offroad driver is definitely not very desirable.
As it is most of these so called SUVs & Crossovers are essentially made for the odd urban patch of sand or the beach and are not really designed for the heavy duty application of the desert
The thumb rule is…if the vehicle does not have a transfer case…the option that allows one to choose High or Low gear ratios…keep it away from severe offroad applications.October 16, 2013 at 12:44 pm #27652Hi Naseem,
I am going to be leading as the rest of the Ranger/Marshall team will be in Oman still.
This looks like it could be fun as the group is small which should allow for a fun and fast paced drive for all.
I shall be at the meeting point from 2.30 and if everyone could please make sure they arrive by 2.45pm as we have a short drive before deflation, then we can start after convoy allocation and briefing.
See you Friday and Eid Mubarak.
