    It depends on the convoy and how fast it is moving…

    One of the members who has registered for this drive drives a Ford Edge. He had come for the last week’s drive and was having some difficulty driving this vehicle. He had to eventually turn back from the starting point after driving a few hundred meters.

    Just as a point to note Bobby, you should not be driving in the desert unless you have a proper vehicle for the situation. This should have 4 wheel drive (all wheel drive does not count) and should have recovery points for when you get in to difficulties.

    Humayun…

    Weather’s changing and its already dusty/windy all around, I hope the drive is still on, I think we should wait till tomorrow afternoon before calling it off, what ever be the case, pls take the initiative and send us txt msgs if the drive is cancelled, I will keep checking for updates regularly, but don’t know if everyone would.

    Mr. Vangara The drives do not get cancelled due to any minor changes in weather. If you might have noticed…there is a largish group going to Liwa for 2 full day drives tomorrow morning. We enjoy driving round the year…even during the summer months and Ramadan too, when some of the Marshals and members are fasting, too.

    Hello Humayun,

    clicked on register – hope I can join DO for the first time!
    Previously I had a number of drives with the Abu Dhabi friends on Newbie/Intermediate Level.
    Now some months pause and no vehicle – it’ll be a first with the new car, so really looking forward to an easy drive 😉
