quote hughmhendry:Instead of the Green’s, can I meet up with you guys at the first Abu Dhabi rest point? (The petrol station) around 1130am, you need to go that way anyway for Liwa. I will be in my old landcruiser rather than the Patrol. Mobile number 0507024317 :thanks:Is that the last Emarat Petrol Pump after Jabel Ali?
quote hughmhendry:No, the first Abu Dhabi petrol station, its called a rest stop for some reason!!! Plus petrol is cheaper there than in Dubai….. =))hugh.. i think you are creating a big confussing here.. :)) the same wway how you did during the gulfnews fun drive time… driving in the convoy without stickers.. ๐
I think it will be better for all of you to meet at our usual meeting point.. last emarat petrol station after JAFZA…

E 54-13-39.10These co-ordinates are of Qu’aysah…if I am not wrong…
That’s where we emerged…when we did Liwa last time…going round Moreeb on the Saudi border side….Beautiful…I would, however, recommend our present group not to go into the Dunes in that area…the sand is unbelievably soft & the Dunes are extremely treacherous.
April 9, 2009 at 3:21 pm #10735We did not cross into Saudi.
The Saudi border was on our right & Moreeb was on our left at one point.
We were fortunate in having a small group of experienced off-Roaders with us.
The border was, in fact, on our right throughout the drive…from the point when we entered Ghayathi till we emerged at Qu’aysah.
We WERE, in fact intercepted by the border guards, since our overnight camp was in the hudood area…& they asked us to move 10k into Emirates…
IT WAS FUN, we’ll do this again next season…you too could, perhaps, join us then.
