Plus, leading in Liwa is not a small deal. Some of the greatest offroaders have trouble there. Two convoys is definitely not advisable.

I agree with Hamza…Liwa is a different ballgame altogether…much like Soccer & Rugby…it suddenly just gets more physical…We have to stick together.
This is basically due to an altogether different texture of Sand & the volume of it…The size of the big reds & the pyramids suddenly gets a different evaluation due to the change in perception!!! We will enjoy !!!I currently see only one car with a winch in the convoy…we can manage perhaps, but I would be happier if we had at least 2 cars with Winches in the convoy.
Please confirm that at least the following items are included in your recovery kit.
First & foremost…Front and rear recovery points on vehicle…strong enough to be able to take the full weight of your vehicle.
1. Long handled shovel
2. Bottle jack
3. Heavy duty Platform type Jack / Hi Lift Jack.
4. Jacking plate / strong Wood plank.
5. Snatch strap rated at least 10 Tonnes, 10m length.
6. 2 rated shackles (“D” or “Bow”)
7. Tyre levers, spanners and mallet
8. Heavy duty air compressor
9. A reliable tyre pressure gauge
10. Tyre valve tool
11. Fire extinguishers (possibly 2)
12. Bush saw

I am working on making this drive a bit more challenging this year…with counter slipface climbs & some nice steep drops…avoiding the construction areas we encountered last time when we were there.
It should be good !!!October 5, 2011 at 10:46 am #14579quote Ahmed Pervez:You are most welcome to join us…you know I always enjoy driving with fast, technical drivers & I definitely enjoyed your company on both the Liwa drives last season !!!

October 12, 2011 at 5:36 am #14645The drop outs are actually welcome on this Liwa drive as 10-12 cars are the maximum manageable numbers on an extreme drive of this nature…

4. Kashmir
5. Khalil
6. Asif
7. Thanseer
8. Anil Berry + Sridhara
