We have to be totally self sufficient on an expedition type drive, where the nearest external help may be a hundred Kms. away.
This essentially means carry everything that one may anticipate to be required…
From food & drinks to first aid, full off Road kit, rescue equipment as well as tools to take care of basic repairs/ punctures etc.
Jessil had posted a thread on the forum sometime back, please review it.

Hey guys,I want to join this trip but I’m not sure if my old ride is equipped for some serious adventure. Plus my ride drinks a lot of gas. It gives me 230kms on a full tank. And I donā€™t have space for a jerry can. These are some concerns I haveā€¦

I donā€™t think any of the CWR guys will be joining ā€¦

I think It will be good if you join us on this trip…Liwa is a different experience altogether.
I am surprised that your Pajero does 230kms. on a full tank…

My brother’s SWB Pajero does 500+ on a full tank.

I guess you could always make space for a Jerry can at the back, inside the car, just make sure that the jerry can is not leaking.

    That should see you through.

where can i get a jerry can for storing petrol. something like 20 litres. Will the normal blue jerry can used for filling water serve the purpose ?

Ahmed bhai- i was not able to find the article which jessil posted regarding the vehicle provisions that we need to carry. if you just list the most necessary ones, i would be grateful.

i have all the basic recovery tools with me- walkie talkie, tow rope, shackles, compressor, shovel, car jack, wooden blocks.. etc. is there anything spcific to the car that we need to carry like spareparts ?
