Guys please post here any type of mods knowledge or experience you have. That can help each other in asking some question for help or mind making.
Starting from me:
I think i know enough abt tyres, then Lift kifts, then bumpers, winch, bash plates.
Things i would like to know more is about intake, exhaust, header, ECU, Extra lights, etc.Engines breathe and it is the volume of air they breathe in that contributes directly to the force of the controlled explosion in the cylinder that pushes the piston down (torque).
If you can get more air into the chamber, the explosion will develop more force
You can compress air into the chamber (turbo does just that).
OR could change the components of the air (more oxygen, more nitrogen, etc), but that entails that you have such a mixture handy (eg. NOX cans).
OR you can make it easier for the engine to breathe by reducing the length of space the air has to travel before entering the engine.
SRI – Short Ram Intake shortens the length of air travel, enabling quick acceleration (more torque). If you already have a short stock intake (eg. Pajero), SRI will not help.
CAI – Cold Air Intake reduces the temperature of the air in the intake, usually by picking it up from a cooler place (eg. insider the front bumper, away from the hot engine, close to the road). Cold air is denser, thereby allowing more air to enter chamber. A lower intake position means risking engine damage if anything other than air gets picked up (eg. water, sand) and a CAI will lengthen the air travel, so the ‘punch’ comes higher on the rev meter (good for in-gear acceleration).

Electrical works independently with battery inverting the right pwr, Mechanical works with engine pwr and hooked up to some engine belt. For that u have to keep ur HI LO lever in Neutral to operate. It basically disengage ur gear and use for winching. Advantage with electrical winch is u can also push ur car in gear in self recovering alongwith winch pwr as ur gearbox is still engage unlike mechanical.Winch comes in diff capabilities for offroad cars from 2500 lbs to 9500lbs.
Anything above 5000 to 6000 lbs capability should be sufficient for our type of usage. The more the better. Warn has some XP winch for Extreme Performances too.Winch fixing has to be done properly or it may damage ur chasis.
As winch fixed indirectly on chasis with a metal plate in between on which it sits, If its loose or not properly sitting it may disfigure ur chais from front part.Winch operation has to be taken out very carefully and slowly.
Winch rope has to be rewind properly, as if it rolls in one particular part then it may damage the protective roller on top which has two job. One to make sure rope rewinds evenly and second to hold the winch together within the side brackets.winch weight
It weighs from 25 to 50 kg, so by installing winch u r adding additional weight in front which will restrict climbing capabilities by 1% lol. Thats the usual excuse of ppl not having winch.Self recovery
Apart from recovering in imp situation to other you can self recover urself all alone. There are sand anchors that get buried in sand and you can hook up winch to pull u out. In absence of sand anchor you can burry spare wheel in sand vertical and winch urself.When to use
Winch is not a daily recovery or all recovery item, It has to be used only in extreme condition when u cant recover a car with tow rope at all.How to use
You should always use winch with pause, winch 2 – 3 meters with few second pause, that way u keep winch out of stress and battery charged up properly.Service
If you are not using winch at all, then u should completely open and rewind rope atleast once a month, and can take for a regular winch service after 1 year. If used everyday then u shud take after 3months approx as recommended by Ramy for warn winch. I dont know abt other brands.Pricing
