This drive will be led by Ali Adnan Hamsafar as I have to lead another drive in the afternoon and it will be squeezing it too tight for time if I have to be back for that drive.
    Have Fun, Guys.

It was nice meeting all of u. I hope u guys yad thoroughly enjoyed the drive, every one drove well. Infact the explorer managed to do quite well. I could see from the happy faces and refreshing comments that every one was happy with the route and driving style. I am sue there would not be a single place where any one had to really jump their cars, this is what in my dictionary i call a Silk Route.

Hope to see u guys next time

    Thank you very much, Adnan.

Had a great drive :drive: without a single tow. Had few difficult patches especially the final big dune climb. But all of us covered it really smooth. Thanks all especially for the great breakfast we had in the wonderfull location all surrounded by dunes.

Once again thanks to all who joined.. and see you for the next drives.. :thanks:

    Regards

Thank you very much to all the Marshals that listen to my request and organized a wonderful morning drive. It was great! I have 2 additional requests…1) Can everybody use their real name so we can know who is who? 2) Can we start morning drives at 8 instead of 6:45? That gives us an additional hour to recover from Thursday’s happy hour!

Most of the people on the forum have their real names in their signatures. It is a privilege given to members which lets them have their usernames of their choice.

The starting time of the drive always depends on the members taking part in the drive and at the final discretion of the lead marshal.

I am glad you had a lot of fun ๐Ÿ™‚

I am glad you Enjoyed the drive.

Regarding 2nd part. infact 6:45 is still late for an early morning drive. During and after the spring we start our Early Morning Drives as early as 4.30.

Actually the Morning Drives are not solely the Drives. These are to Enjoy the Beautiful Mornings breeze, beautiful twilight at horizon, beautiful and clean sand, Clear Desert from all those Buggies, Quads, Bikes etc,, which not only increase the Risks but also ruin the sand and ultimately the pleasure of Driving on virgin dunes.

In addition to that, many of us us had to reach home in time to get ready for “Friday Prayers”

Hope This answers your query in detail and will see you next time.

Oh BTW how was you wadi Asimah Trip, did you make it ?

    February 5, 2012 at 6:35 am #15553

    Hi Ali,

Yes, we went to wadi Asimah and was really nice. On our way, we stopped in Masafi and had a great lunch (Indian food) for 4 at only AED 75! The restaurant is in the same place they have the “popular kitchen” close by where the water fall was supposed to be, but we didn’t find ๐Ÿ™

Its good to hear you made the trip. but which water fall you are mentioning, I dont think there is any Water Fall in Wadi Asimah, The One with a Small Water Fall is Wadi Wurrayah, that is on the left of the road once you Past Khorfakan beach going towrds Dibba.
