Hi all – I’m itching to joining one of the many trips, but I still have to get a sand flag and somehow attach it to my Jeep GC Overland 2014
Does anyone know a way or shop that can do this for me, without drilling any holes in the roof that is 🙂
Also what length is normally required.. I’ve seen a bunch of flags at Icon Auto, but I didn’t take note of their length.I’ve done some research and found this.. What do you guys recommend – do you know the Sticky Whips

Welcome to the group.
Any of the options you mentioned works.
Icon auto will make you a bracket for wherever you wish to mount it but this will cost about 400AED with the flag and pole.
One of our Marshalls also has flags which do not require drilling. Details here:

Alternatively you can go to Carrefour and buy a telescopic fishing rod and suction cup then use a home made flag.
Also use the search function (top right of the website) to have a look for walkie talkie and tire deflators.
Once you have these items you will be set to join one of our drives.
Happy hunting
Thank you for your reply Duncan :thanks:
I went ahead and got the Sand Flag you linked to via the warehouse in Ras Al Khor, unfortunately I can’t attach it to my car. Or at least I’m out of ideas as where to install it.
I think I’ll just go ahead and order the Sticky Whips from the states. Let me know if anyone needs some, then we could share parts of the shipping cost.
I already have the walkie talkie and tire deflators. I’m hoping to join tomorrows drive even without being able to attach the stupid flag. Maybe I could tape it to one of the windows on my car?

we can work on your flag then.
Hello Jonas
I had a look at the flag mount and looks like the best place to easily install it is on the edge of the trunk (rear door) either on the top or any of the sides.
The only thing is it might scratch the paint while installing, so better to use some kind of padding between the mount and door (like a 10 cm of double sided scotch tape, or thin rubber, or something similar). -
