    1. Bushranger from Ace / Viking or other brands from Ramy / Icon etc
    2. Bushranger from Ace / Other brands from Yellow Hat or Ramy or Icon / Other brands from Dragon Mart
    3. Only Dragon Mart – Ensure it is programable and UHF
    4. Stick to Garmin for navigation. Expensive but reliable.

As mentioned on the chat, surf the various topics here and you shall find a wealth of information. Each of the items you referred above would have thread on them wherein you shall find all the details and answers.

Compressor –> dragon mart. I got one at Ace for 160 but it was crap. Some other people got one at dragon mart for 150 and these things are brilliant, value for money is very good. But as Zarir said, get the snatch strap and shakles at ace.

    Happy offroading.

    Testing conditions!!!!!!!!!

    Rain, rain, rain.

    Drive Report

The convoy set off from Tawi Nazwa and assembled at the entry point with little problems and headed out into the desert. Initially the going was good but after around 15 minutes we had our first stuck (jeep) – luckily there was a member of the Jeep Recovery Team (JRT) present and i pulled her out (don’t worry Jeepers, you can always rely on an FJ when the going gets tough! ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Then continued towards Pink Rock and for a while it seemed that everything was going fine – until we hit “The Bowl”. This particular bowl caused us a multitude of dramas – at one point we had three vehicles stuck at the same time – and the rain started to come down in earnest! Ali asked me to take the remainder of the convoy up to Pink Rock while he supervised the recovery – after about 40 minutes i got a call from Ali to go back and help with the stucks – Ali’s winch was very tired and needed a well earned rest!

We finally got the rest of the cars out – including the Iranian gentleman who had appeared out of the blue and told me “i never get stuck” (i did laugh to myself 5 minutes later when it became quite obvious that has going nowhere!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ ). All cars finally made it to the road – quick cup of chai – inflation – slow drive home and then a well earned night at Barastis!

Ali – great control of the group in some testing conditions. See you all soon.
