Thanks Andy and Gerry for the excellent sweep yesterday.
Thanks Kumar, Aemi, Khalid and Thanseer for all the help in recovery situations.
Thanks to the flying Daredevils Ali, Saif, Tushar, Satwinder & Humayoo’n who rushed in to recover the convoy, from Tawi Nazwa side, as soon as they got the info that the convoy was still inside the desert past sunset.
A few observations….
A. Few bee and Newbie Drives have to be restricted to certain accessible areas only, Al Faqaa/ Shwaib/ Area 53 is not a newbie area and should be treated as such.
B. Night drives have to be avoided with new Drivers, mistakes are committed by the inexperienced when they find themselves in unaccustomed situations.
C. Convoy Discipline has to be enforced more strictly.
But…at least we made sure that most of the fences of Dubai Conservation Project are in good repair!!!
It seems all the thrill was in the newbie convoys this week. Kudo’s for all the marshalls on getting everbody safely out of the sands.!
We just made sure the fence was in good condition. Although I did like the fast rally style drive over the tracks and the last part to iftar bowl.
I am setting up a fence business -for all your fence needs please give me a call on FENCE_IT_ALL-800100100!
My goodness, we better enjoy now, I can see the desert being privatized soon.
Anyway, great drive in a great area and very interesting experience driving on wet sand where perhaps we need to reduce traditional aggressive deflation levels. I enjoyed reaching the Iftar Bowl from a different angle.
