I will have a new jeep in 3 days looking at insurance. Been with RSA for 5 years with 2 vehicles. Now see they are pathetic after getting quote and reviewing policy. Expensive, they didnt even see the 1st three years without claim. Price was higher than AXA and Oman insurance and didnt include oman or offroad. I have more info of why watch out with rsa if any want.

Question…. any experienced with AXA and Oman insurance? My understanding is AXA is a bit better but i have no 1st hand experience.

I started first with RSA but didn’t renew it because of higher price and turned to AXA.
I didn’t have any issue/accident while I was having AXA. Lastly I have the insurance from Zurich. Maybe a bit more expensive than AXA, but they are quite good and quick on the service after experiencing some small repair jobs like replacing a few broken bumpers . You need to check and compare carefully the coverage of the insurances and then you can make your call.

Hey Steve, go with Nasco Insurance, they offer great coverage and they also have the offroad option.
Call Omar Mikati on 0557435252, tell him I gave you his contact, he’ll give you a good quote.

I use Khazna on all my cars. Good rates, but never had any claim, God forbids to everyone

Zurich is no longer an option as they are winding down their general insurance business in UAE.

For what it’s worth, maybe try calling AIG, I believe they are a newcomer to UAE but are one of Al Naboodah preferred insurance providers so must have some credibility. I’ve recently insured my wife’s car through them and whilst didn’t include off-road (a VW beetle ain’t much good in the sand!) it did include GCC wide coverage and the price was very reasonable in comparison to RSA.
    Worth a try maybe…….

    Hi Steve,

If you get the Comprehensive Policy with RSA and have a 4×4 you automatically are covered off road.

This is the clause – 6. OFF ROAD COVER

If you have a Comprehensive Policy, your policy is extended to cover loss or damage to the insured vehicle
whilst being driven off road. This is applicable to four wheel drives only.

I have only ever had good experiences with RSA personally.

Did anyone tested the off-road cover?
I mean, if I get so stuck in sand that you cannot get out anymore, do they come and pull you out??

AIG have been competitive for me and relatively good when I have had an accident.
(i use http://www.insurancemarket.ae to get some comparison quotes and still end up going back to AIG)

(I have a FJ and a Pajero). I understand that Zurich are no longer issuing new car insurances.

I hope you don’t mean it the way it sounds… why would you go alone in desert when you have so many friends in DO? ๐Ÿ˜•

Otherwise, off-road insurance is actually the cover for accidents caused during driving the car off the road.
If you do get stuck, and nobody around to rescue you (and you have the phone network coverage) you might call recovery provided by your insurance and they should be able to find you based on coordinates you give them… ohh, wait, most of them don’t even have GPS…

We once had a Jeep stuck in desert, and we called recovery. Well, the recovery guys smashed 2 Hummers H3 trying to get to the place, and they still wouldnt have make it without our marshalls showing the way… they had to recover their Hummers plus our Jeep…
๐Ÿ˜€ true story, don’t rely on recovery :-B
there is a special off-road recovery service (it’s advertised at Badayer) but the charge would be 2-3k AED.

But at the end of the day they came to recover!

Never tried aig for auto but had them several years 4 health. They were were quite good. Even offered my wife medflight jet from central russia to moscow with onboard doctor and operating room facilities when she had an advanced tubal pregnancy.

RSA had been good for years but they have been very disorganized this time. Took them a while to realize i had two cars in past with them and were only showing 2 years no claims when it is actually almost 5. The car i am buying is insured with them now but they are requiring not only a valuation report but approval of changes affecting the value. No issues with the others.

Hi guyz. need your help on this.
Now that i am 25 and finally acceptable for insurance ๐Ÿ˜€ , i decided to get my self an FJ :drive: . everthing has been sorted with the exception of the insurance. The dealer is not offering any sort of offroad cover and i understand that having this cover is extremely necessary. i have tried a few of the brokers and they suggested either noor takaful or india insurance co. i believe only AXA and RSA provide the perfect and hassle free offroad cover. As this will be my first car with *offroad cover” any help or expert advise on this matter will be highly appreciated :ymhug:
