Oman Calling – Wadis, Water and Splash

    Day and date : Thursday, May 11-13, 2017,
    Drive Type : Camping, Wadis and natural pools

    Meeting Point : TBA to all participants registered for the trip
    Meeting Point Co-Ordinates : TBA

    Meeting Time : 18:00Hrs.
    Drive Start: 18:15Hrs.
    Drive Route: Dubai – Muscat – Salma Plateau

    Drive Terrain: Highway, mountain trails and wadis.

    High level plan (More details to follow closer to the event dates):

    – 2 nights camping;
    – Dip in wadi Arbaeen and Wadi Shab. time permitting we will try to cover wadi Dayqah also
    – Drive up and camp at Salmah Plateau, the highest spot on the east cost of Oman. It houses the world famous Majlis Al Jinn.

    Checklist:-
    a) Ensure your 4 x 4 vehicle is in perfect condition and with enough fuel.
    b) Carry an auto air compressor with you and ensure it’s in working condition.
    b) Compatible Radio is mandatory
    c) Carry all necessary offroad gears, in good condition.
    d) Carry enough water / refreshments / re-hydration drinks for self & co-passenger(s)
    e) Please ensure that your vehicle’s Fuel Tank is full
    f) Make sure that your spare tyre is in workable condition.
    g) your vehicle must have front and rear tow points.
    h) Ensure you are eligible for procuring a visa on arrival at the Omani check post. in case of any doubt contact the Omani Embassy in AbuDhabi or Omani Consulate in Dubai. You may also check the requirements and apply for visa at https://www.rop.gov.om/visa/english/onlineservices_visaapplication_main.aspx

    Hey friends. The countdown to the event has begun. We need to take a final count of the cars and participants. Further details and chat foe the trip shall now shift to a whatsapp group.

    You all are requested to check you plans and firm up your participation. In case you are confirmed to join, please send a whattsapp message to +971503974898 with the following details:
    Name of driver
    Phone number of driver
    Car make and model
    Color of car
    Total number of adult pax in the car
    Total number of children (below 18) in the car

    We will create a WhatsApp group and shift the details and discussion on that group.

    Please note, registration for this event will close by 6pm this evening (Sunday May 7th). You need to WhatsApp your mobile number to either Ajay (+971503974898) or me (+971501326319) by 6pm this evening in order to join the trip. This cutoff is in place to allow for the requisite planning for all that we need to do this week. Thanks, Matt
