    quote brianj:

    A footnote to the BBQ, the following morning , the troops that stayed over toured the BBQ site and picked up quite a volume of trash, 6 sacks, left behind by the revellers =;

HEY EVERYBODY OUT THERE, BE RESPONSIBLE, YOU ARE NOT CHILDREN, LEAVE NOTHING BEHIND. CARRY OUT WHAT YOU CARRIED IN

    ๐Ÿ˜‰

:-s Seeing Brian’s remark, friends, I request to check out the following link/topic as the pictures speak better than words. I rest my case.
Lets individually set an example for the rest to follow.

After a long morning session when I came out with my convoy, we met everyone who were ready to charge in for the afternoon drive….

The convoys were already set by Kumar and been divided into three groups after adjusting some members here and there as per their requests…..which actually eats up some time…. When the marshals sets up the convoy listings, I request the members to please follow it and abide to it, although you might not be driving with your friends…..We do this to ensure safety of the driver and his car…. and these last minute changes sometimes disturbs the fun too…

Once I grouped my convoy to one side, I had Rein as the second lead followed by others and Mathews as the sweep. We had a small briefing along with congratulating Rein for the member of the week by giving him the DO mug as a mark of appreciation.

The drive route which i selected was a tough one which required full pace and momentum climbing all the tall dunes upto the crest and sliding down, also breaking the crest sideways, driving through the ridges too…

I should really appreciate all the drivers in my convoy….you guys did a brilliant job :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: …….. The sweep also commented that we have a very good convoy…..

We stopped at some spots for photography with a carcus of camel….

The task was to finish the drive before sunset and reach the barbeque spot and it was done with ease. We had minor stuck-ups. There was one time when my Pajero pulled out Saj’s Hummer ๐Ÿ˜€ . There were 2 pop-outs of Mathews itself but as we all know Mathews is too good in fixing the pop-outs even before anyone tries to reach him…. ๐Ÿ™‚

Guys, always remember one important thing while driving as the marshals have been telling you before the drive…..Always drive with the car behind you…..So if any of the cars gets stuck or have a pop-out, the lead marshal or the sweep are there to rescue you, but if the Sweep has a pop-out, I request the car in front of the sweep to go back to him to help him….

Once we reached the barbeque point by 6 pm, we saw Kumar waiting there alone as his convoy left after the drive. Mathews and myself started setting up our covered tent and the BBQ…. Then slowly we were joined by Amin, Saj & Mehboob with their family, Shabeer with his friends, Wasi and his friend, Musbah with his family, David and group, Gabriel with his family, Anand, Ashok & group, G kumar and Thanseer…..

It was also nice to see Mr. Ahmed Parvez and family joining us at the spot…..Everyone shared their nice barbeque delicacies with each other…..

Special thanks to Musbah for arranging the music system, lights, generator and the games…. We played the game of “Unpacking the gift”. Gkumar was the first lucky person to win the gift of a LG mobile and the second lucky person was Firoz’s cute daughter who won a camera….. Then we a couple of games more which was conducted by our own Mr. Paul :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: …. we really had a blast and good fun….

Wasi was finally successful to break open his BBQ menu which was in the form of rock solid ice as he had stored it in dry ice which he got (stole ๐Ÿ˜€ ) it for free :)) :)) :)) , but it was indeed a very nice preparation Wasi…. Thank you so much bro…. :ymhug:

It was a very nice chilled evening with so many of us having chit chats, sharing their food, drinks, jokes, comments, experiences….. As time went by, the climate was getting really colder and colder and everyone who didnt plan to stay back started leaving…. Myself, Mathews, Paul, Ayman, Anand, Brian & Nikki, Gabriel and family stayed back in the desert. The temperature recorded at night was 11 degrees…. pretty cold ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

In the morning we woke up at 6.30 and started collecting the garbage which was left behind and also repacking our stuff….. We had collected nearly 6 bags full of garbage and Mathews drove one trip just to drop the garbage to the bin which was near the farm area…. Brian and Nikki enjoyed a nice hot cup of tea….Gabriel and his family were enjoying the morning sunshine on the dunes…..

We said goodbye to everyone and thanked them for their lovely company…. Musbah’s electrical equipments were safe with Mathews to be returned to him….

Overall an absolute fantstic event which was a great success with 32 cars in the morning drive and 40 cars in the afternoon drive….Thanks to everyone who participated in the drives and special thanks to the family members of everyone who enjoyed the BBQ session with us…. We at Dubai Offroaders will always create such opportunities to bring people together and have fun….

My Special thanks to Mathews, Paul, Anand and Ayman for the great company throught the event and the barbeque :ymhug:

See you all for many more drives in future….

    Cheers

Thanks Rein, Sundar, Brian and DADA for the great reports. The whole event is covered very well in your reports :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: Nothing more to say ๐Ÿ˜€
After two consecutive weeks of high charge drives, plan was to mellow down with couple of relaxing drives ๐Ÿ˜€ And the afternoon newbie drive was really relaxing ๐Ÿ™‚ Very nice group of drivers and the drive was at very safe hands of Marshal Saif :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: Certainly that empowered me to spice up the drive level a little bit than the usual newbie drive pattern, hope you guys enjoyed ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you very much Wassi for the sweep assistance to Saif :-BD ๐Ÿ™‚ We could finish the drive at the BBQ spot right before sunset. Marshal Saif led the convoy to ADNOC and I had a good short nap at the BBQ spot, till the arrival of Dada’s convoy.
Later myself and SIR had a rescue mission in the dark to help Ashok’s convoy. Thanks you very much Musbah for all your efforts in making the camp site so lively ๐Ÿ™‚ Also for the awesome gifts and yummy home made muffins :ymhug: :thanks: I was so lucky to be the first game winner with a lovely prize of LG Dual Sim mobile phone ๐Ÿ˜ก Hats off to you St.Paul for your great anchoring ๐Ÿ™‚ I loved it. Hey.. Mathews and St.Paul are the real BBQ / Camping experts of our group :-BD Its worth to learn the level of preparation they both make for a camping event :ymhug: :ymhug: :ymhug: :-BD :-BD :-BD
Another awesome offroading day in the company of around 70 cars in two drives, came to a happy end when we left the spot at around 00:45 leaving the camping guys for a good sleep – Brian, Nikkie, Paul, Mathews, Gabriel, Ayman ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚
Look forward to make many more such memorable offroading days with your support :-BD :-BD :-BD
