    Hi Girish,

    Last Firday i was a bit late due the Military convoy passing on the road. Due to which i ended up being invited by another group waiting there. I did drive with them, but did not feel the level of professionalism and security. I ended up with their sticker on my car which i shall get removed.
    Waiting to drive with you guys again.

    Meeting Time : 2:15 pm
    Drive Start: 2.30 pm
    Drive Route: Al Faqqa area
    Drive Terrain: Tricky soft dunes and bowls
    Drive Duration: Till the sun shines
    Finishing Point: Back to ADNOC petrol station Al Faqqa (Maplink:- http://goo.gl/maps/iuf7R)

    Note:- There are good facilities available at ADNOC, Al Faqqa for refreshing and also Mosque for friday prayers

    Checklist:-
    a) Ensure your 4 x 4 vehicle is in perfect condition with tow hooks at both front and rear ends and with enough fuel.
    b) Compatible Radio is a must.
    c) Carry all necessary offroad gears, in good condition.
    d) Carry enough water / refreshments / re-hydration drinks for self & co-passenger(s).

    2. tire air valve remover
    3. tow belt minimum 6 ton x 6mtr
    4. h/d shackle 2 pic
    5. air compressor
    6. one must know the tow points of their cars
    7. walky talky
    8. offroad gps

    For marshals

    1. tire gauge
    2. tire air valve remover
    3. tow belt minimum 6 ton x 6mtr

    Just a small request to everyone who is participating in the drive : Please have a radio (walky talky) with you. Its a basic requirement and is a must. It is very useful in communication during the drive.

    its my first BBQ with DO…. pls let me know….

    Shabeer,

    The general trend with BBQ is participants carry food & drinks for themselves & passengers +20% extra for good measure. Cause we at DO love to share :ymhug:

    A portable BBQ & Charcoal would be icing on the cake, although im sure a couple of our old-timers would carry the BBQ pit.

    The Basic BBQ Items
    BBQ Pit, Available in major super/hyper markets for AED 20 to AED 50
    Charcoal, Available in major super/hyper markets AED 18/45 (Buy the loose hard wood charcoal)
    or
    Portable BBQ pit, Use & Throw (not in the dunes)

    Water, Minimum of 4.5 Ltr /person (including hand washing)
    Facial Tissue – 2 Box
    Garbage Bag, 5 (Strong one, as you may like to put your BBQ pit inside that)
    Utensils – Disposable plates, Glass, Spoon, Fork (5/person)
    BBQ grills – 1 or 2 (depending on your cooking style)To grill your eatables on the flame
    Soft Drinks – Carbonated drinks minimum 2 can per person, No alcohol please
    Hand Gloves – Non powdered gloves for preparation (don’t buy the loose plastic ones, as it may attract fire/stick to your skin on heat)

    Extra Stuff
    Burn Spray – Blue color savoy spray (AED 10) available in all major super markets
    Fire Extinguisher – If your BBQ got a big fire :ymdevil:
    Aluminum Foil – 1 Roll to keep your food covered, or heat on top of it (slow flames)

    What to Cook
    Chicken, Mutton, Fish, Crab :-w , Mushroom :)) etc.., No crocodiles or Pork pls :ymsmug:
    Arabic Bread (Brown color)
    Green Salad (more Eruca sativa leaves)

    After the cooking

    No probs brother ….after its ‘sharing’ makes everybody close to their hearts.

    But my concern how i keep the stuff without spoiling from morning as i am planning for whole day drive.

    Hmmm..let me find a way.
