Based on demand for an intermediate level drive, today morning we organized a private and free drive. Thanks to Humayun, Robinson and Ricardo for the enthusiasm and I was happy to accept the request to lead the drive. Thank you guys for the confidence on me.
Meeting point was Tawi Nazwa Shops at 7.30am. All reported in time, excluding me, late by 5 minutes ๐ (Sorry guys, it was due to an unexpected delay at petrol station.)
We proceeded to the deflation point – Tawi Nazwa Farms and started the drive at 7.50am. Robinson was the next to lead car, followed by Humayun and Ricardo in the sweep Since the demand was for a good skill refreshing drive, I have made a point to avoid tracks and our first destination was pink rock only via dunes.
We enjoyed the sand by “snaking”, crossing as much as dunes possible by edge driving, ridge crossing and drops. I was avoiding all slide slopes and sharp turns preventing any kind of risks and possible pop out, taking into account the scorching sun.
I was amazed to see the convoy following the tracks with great confidence and happy faces ๐ At this point I decided to make it a little more fun by choosing only the ridges and drops. Very soon we faced a small problem when Robinson’s patrol got struck awkwardly in a pit. But we recovered in no time using two ropes attached together. It made us feel that it was not a struck at all. Thanks to “Patrol Power” :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
Later, we realized that Robinson did it with a purpose to carry out his mission “Clean the Desert” ๐ He could quickly collect half bag of bottles from the spot, though it is not at all a halting point, which indicates that its a usual place for nasty struck ups, which requires lot of time to recover.
We continued our adventure with no other issues and reached our first destination – Pink Rock. All were driving extremely well. Robinson was driving like a Pro and supercharged Ricardo was enjoying his Jeep. (Khalil can be proud of giving his toy to a true offroader) Humayun too was driving very good with controlled aggression and less repeated attempts. Need to say, he was 100% following the convoy discipline… ๐ :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
Our second destination was Badayer shops via big red. Here I changed my original plan of taking relatively medium route via dunes. Decided to give more adventure to the team by taking all soft, tricky and sharp turns and bowls. Started with the bowl at Pink Rock itself!!! Excellent driving by Robinson and rest of the team in this stretch :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: I was expecting to have some troubles in this stretch, but we were so smooth and fast ๐ฎ .
At big red I chose a safe track to climb till the top of the dune with few turns in between to regain the momentum and I was amazed to see all the cars reaching top of big red with no risk and less effort. Well done guys.. excellent driving!!!! We were stopping on top of all big dunes to take scenic pictures (will try to upload few – Robinson should also have few)
I believe there was no scary moments or risky attempts all through the drive, though the route was only on dunes. (Guys correct me if I am wrong) We had enough fun and thereby decided to skip the big red play area. We reached Badayer by 10.30am, but decided to proceed to Tawi Nazwa shops via sand. In this drive, finally Ricardo managed to struck his jeep on top a dune, giving Humayun a chance to recover.. ๐ We reached Tawi Nazwa shops by around 10.45am, inflated and proceeded home.
I was very happy and satisfied with the drive, on seeing happy faces at the end of the drive. Thanks you guys for the great company and excellent drive. :thanks: Look forward for many drives in future.. :drive: :drive: :drive:
Guys.. you are welcome to correct or add anything to this report… ๐
