    Excellent report Adeel Bhai.
wrangler was the only vehicle to manage the Drive without a stuck or mishap!!!

Rizwaan bhai, my cousin, also drove the LC for some time but decided discretion is better after a couple of stucks,

Even Bhaabhi took the wheels after we came down from Malieha Heights…and was in fact contemplating climbing the Saddle Point!!!

Excellent Run, Thanks everybody for participating.

Excellent trip. Everyone loved it. Good initiative and leading by humsafar. Also, would like to thank Saif for doing most of the rescue operations in the drive. Nice trip!

I know I have missed the fantastic drive. I’ll make sure I will be there for Ifthar Drive on 28.

    TRIP REPORT

First of all apologies for belated repot, Currently I do not have Internet access at home.

Well, What to say, Just one word, It was a fantastic trip and in words of MR. Ahmed an overwhelming experience.

5 cars started from the meeting point at head towards the deflation point i.e underpass No. 3, sharjah-Kalba Road,

Every one deflated quickly and seems ready to roll. We had a breif about the basics of Desert Driving, as we had one absolute newbie among us.

Th convoy rolled arrounf 5:15 with Ali Adnan as leader accompanied by fateh then Adeel bhai, Khizar (newbie), saif and finally the Pehelwan (wrestler) of desert Ahmad bhai.

Fateh my co pilot was of opinion that we should take tracks as we had a newbie amongst us (which later proved to be not soooo newbie, Excellent driving by both drivers), However after some discussion we agreed that we shall not go on tracks as it takes away all the char,. however I tried to keep the drive as easy as possible by taking the DUNES route. in this way I learned a lot specially my tracking skills were flourished and polished. I tried to drive like the Big man Mr. Ahmed, with out having my car to jump, and I think me and Fateh did this almost perfectly and our car did not jump from any ridge / dune curve, except couple of places where I lost concentration.

During the initial stages the terrain was bushy, however I tried to negotiate the bushes instead of going over them (being nature friendly ๐Ÿ˜€ ), Just after start we had our first stuck of Saif bhai, which was dealt very quickly, before we reached the foot of fossil rock, we had our second stuck or Khizar on a small side slope and the ropes and shackles were out quickly to pull the car out, I was of the opinion that car will get out on its own, so Ahmed bhai asked me to try as I also drive Pathy. I tries to recover and luckily it was recovered with out any need of towing.

We then climb to the fossil rock, and I was really astonished to see that the Pass between the rocks was blocked by a small ridge of sand. however we all crossed the ridge and the Wooowww, a beautiful scenery is there waiting for us. we had a chit chat for while and then went down from the hill.

Now we start second leg of our trip towards camel Rock. and this is where we gained some confidence on the newbies skills and decided to take on the high dunes. however instead of Just charging in, I tried to conquer the dunes step by step., when we reach at top, we find that Khizr’s pathfinder is having difficulty to climb up, do me and Adeel bhai decided to go down and lead him from the more easier path, Now the khizr pathy followed by quite beautifully and reached at the height.

We continued our journey towards camel rock through the high and lows of dunes finding our way. I must say again it was a great learning and technical driving.

At one spot we were trying to negotiate a ridge from side ways and I lost concentration for jiffy and Booooommm my car lands side ways on the other side, and there was a big Boooom and then the Right rear tyre popped out, Fortunately nothing else happened. i manage to fix the Popout with in 10 minutes.

After few minutes we heard a radio call the LC is stuck, me and Fateh both look towards each other in disbelieve, so we come back to the spot and saw it actually stuck at side slope. and Ahmed bhai on driving site, I was not believing my eyes that how can Ahmed bhai stuck at this angle. it was apparent that the car will self recover which it did. later we cam to know that it was driven by Ahmed bhai’s guest, and the mystery of stuck is solved.

We waited a Camel rock for fe minutes and then head towards Faya, with in few minutes again we heard the LC is stuck, again a feeling of disbelief. we come to the spot and realized that infact LC is stuck in a very small bowl with not even a millimeter to move front or rear. However it was dealt very technically by the team and saif and hi Fj were the heroes this time.

Now we saw huge dunes in front of us and we decided to go for it.

every one enjoyed climbing the dunes, ultimately we reach to Saddle Point / faya, every one had played there for some time and then we head towards road.

From here Ahmed bhai and saif decided to go to Petrol station for inflating the tyres. and Me, Adeel bhai and Khizar decided to inflate at the spot.

I can safely say this was the best lead drive from my very few leads.

Thanks to All for superb company and team work.

There are certain habits that we inculcate over a period of time that they just come naturally, without conscious thought…like riding a bicycle!

I realized that sitting on the passenger side with Rizwaan Bhai driving,
whenever on a side slope, he used to try to steer the car upward!!!

    Anti-gravity, my dear Watson…

He too cannot be blamed as he has learnt this technique driving on snowy roads of the East coast of US.

Side stuck with two wheels spinning…

At least, now we all know how to get the LC stuck!!!
