b) Ensure your 4×4 vehicle is in perfect condition and with enough fuel.
c) Compatible Radio is a must. You won’t be allowed to drive without one.
d) Carry enough refreshments for yourself & co-passengers.
e) Have an off road flag properly attached to your car.We started about 5km back from Fossil Rock. We had a nice smooth route with a couple of big side slopes as we made our way to fossil rock. We didn’t go over at the peak as all the sand had been blown away exposing rock that would have damaged the non-lifted cars. We then drove on to Faya Dune where a few members experienced the big bowl on top, crossed the road and snaked our way to Pink Rock/2nd of December.
The route from Pink Rock to Badayer was much more challenging, we had some big climbs and some nice ridges.
Alex, Philip and Heithos were in support at the back and took great pleasure in smoothing out all of the trickier ridges that I had avoided, many thanks for your support guys – you were needed today and kept the convoy running smoothly.
Its nice to see drivers improve and I was impressed by the 1 stars (Neil, Stuart, Hafid and Pierre) who demonstrated good balance and control of their cars. Stuart did a good job as second lead. Nice to see Majid back in action after a long break.
It was a good start to the weekend with good company.
July 2, 2017 at 6:41 am #39398Many thanks to Simon for fantastic track. U can officially call @Pbencini and me – dune shavers :drive:
The track which u build allowed us to clear every ridge on our way, no virgin anymore :)) Convoy was longer this time, we had just few stacks which I think we easily fix with @heithos with no ropes, just man’s power :yesss:
Hope to see u all soon. Counting days ๐ -
