Hi all,
I’d love to buy a low profile roof rack for my 2011 Xterra. With the added 2inches from the Iron Man lift kit, the existing roof rails come very close to the Dubai Mall carpark barriers. I don’t love malls, but there are times they are useful….
Anyone know where I can either buy a premade roof rack for an Xterra, or where I might be able to get one fabricated?
Some research on the internet brought up this beauty from the US: DepHep Roof Racks
Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers
Hey Ken,
I came across the same design/material on one of the US sites (thenewx.org) I believe. I think this is the best installation technique as it’s subtle and doesn’t make your car look like a camel. Joe Zeinoun is a close friend and a loyal member of DO. He can design the roof rack for you and have it produced for a good deal. He had showed me some of the stuff he’s done – really simple and functional.
If you decide to move forward with it, we can place a bigger order (add whoever else is interested) and get a discounted rate from him.Good luck

JohnHi John,
Sounds like a fantastic plan.
I would love one similar to the design that we are talking about. However, if it is in the too hard basket, I would be happy to go with something else.
Anyone else with an Xterra interested in a low profile custom designed roof rack?
Cheers,
Kenny

I would be interested and have been searching last weekend. The issue I have is that mine is the basic Xterra which doesn’t comes with factory fitted roof rails. So I was trying to find a a solution similar to Thule or Rhino rack roof bars so that no drilling is required to the roof. But so far I didn’t had much luck in finding roof bars which would fit my Xterra. So open for any creative solutions.. ๐
Ken, John,
Check this roof rack. It seems like something you guys are after:

Hey mate,
Sorry I’ve been away for awhile and haven’t checked out the board.
Still no luck. If you find something please let me know.
Good luck!

You will not really find accessories. But rather good deals on usually expensive mechanical parts.
Good luck! -
