Saturday April 19th intermediate afternoon drive

    Day and date: Saturday 19th April 2014
    Drive Type: Intermediate to Advance
    Meeting Point: Lisailli Solar Power Plant
    GPS Users: N24 45.906 E55 22.002
    Google Maps: 24.765693,55.366703
    Meeting Time: 15.00pm
    Drive Start: 15.15pm sharp
    Drive Route &Terrain: Side Sloping, Ridge Riding, Cresting, not getting stuck in soft sand
    Duration: 3 hours

    A drive from Lisailli to tight technical dunes in very soft sand with no tracks. There will also be 2 or 3 big dunes along the route. This one is not for the faint hearted!!!! End destination will either be back in Lisailli or possibly Al Faquaa depending on time contraints and convoy.

    Checklist:-

    a) Keep your emergency contact info at vehicle dashboard.
    b) Carry air compressor with you and ensure it’s in working condition.
    c) Ensure your 4 x 4 vehicle is in perfect condition and with enough fuel.
    d) Compatible Radio is a must.
    e) Carry all necessary off-road gears / recovery equipment in good condition.
    f) Carry enough water / refreshments / re-hydration drinks for self & co-passenger(s).

    Hi Zakariya,

    Want to join Saturday but Is there anyway to change area? We did badayer last Saturday, and now again this Friday and so Saturday again will be too much!

    How about faquaa or lisailly. Last week we found dunes that people do not visit.

    Great news guys, will be a fun weekend of offroading.

    Now we just need 2 or 3 more cars for an exciting afternoon.

    Where is the likes of Saj, Faheem, Baher and Levi??????

    This particular area planned for drive is such a soft sand and I would bet you will never see such soft sand any where in sweihan or khatim also. This will be like powdery sand with no tracks at all. It has to be through dunes only…

    In addition this area is such a place where no offroaders go generally.

    Anyone missing this drive will be missing lot of fun…

    I have plans for Saturday. If they change, I will try and join. But the good thing is that you already have a fantastic line-up for the drive 🙂
