Dear Kumar, now what kind of challenge have you in mind……. ๐Ÿ˜•

A tantalising thing to say late on a Saturday night, just when most of us are :-w the tables waiting for our Marshall’s and fun providers to post messages of times & co ordinates for Sunday no Monday no Tuesday no Wednesday no Thursday,.ahhh….Friday finally… yes Friday, just as most of us are scanning the forums again and again, just to see if we’ve missed a post.

:ymhug: \:D/ Kumar thows out an idea = What about a challenge :ymhug: Catch me if you can \:D/

It is a good idea, I will participate as long as it is at a Learner to Intermediate skill level…yesterday’s dive was a tough one and at a point I lost Ashok for a moment… ๐Ÿ™ at the same moment allowing Jason to catch upwith me ๐Ÿ˜‰ . I still have a lot to learn on these drives ๐Ÿ™‚

The Drive Report from Renegade Group

    Google Map : http://goo.gl/fBenw
    Everytrail Map : http://goo.gl/Lohyg
    Location : Badayer to Shwaib
    Distance : 51.1 Km

Convoy 1 : Ganesh (Lead), Brian, Rakesh, David, Razik, Musbah, Syed & Thanseer :-w

Drive started with initial route briefing by dada, then presented the DO souvenir to the member of the weeks followed by Brian’s delicious cup cakes with a special artwork of DO. :ymhug:

Convoy headed to the Super Bowl, where we missed the bowl name and changed the bowl name to “Dada Bowl”, ๐Ÿ˜€ Syed, Musbah, Brian (almost all) went up the hill and flew down, Then headed to some picturesque dunes by doing some cresting and fly over’s, All the cars passed the cresting without a stuck.

Brian’s FJ was having a popout B-) in the valley while fighting with black sand, Rectified within couple of minutes and started the drive but the path infront of us was leading to very soft sand (powder) many cars got stuck in the soft sand , Thanseer has shown a demo of self recovery while stuck on the slope. :yesss: :yesss:

After a small chat & we re-checked the tire pressure and reduced the pressure from 15 to 10 to cover the soft sands..We have spotted some Gazelle’s ๐Ÿ˜• running here & there. After a short drive we have seen Convoy 2 members Amjed & Mathews :-w :-w were on top of hill, We thought they might have lost the track, When we headed towards them, ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Wow all the convoy 2 member’s were there on the Ghaf Tree valley for small rest. We meet them but musbah was not having any rest as he was infront of Shabeer’s camera for shooting jumping sequence of the movie “Musbah the Musbah” ๐Ÿ˜€ . We said “Ma as-salaamah” to the convoy 2 and headed towards the farm land of shwaib. Convoy was moving through several sand mountain and sand fall’s & dancing sands. We moved to the difficult dunes to cross soft sands and reached a Track and Dada was finding a way out of a long fence. But dada’s car got stuck followed by Brian’s car. Musbah came to winch them out but his FJ was also stuck, We have tried Ghaf tree rescue for musbah, but the car’s position didn’t allowed the rescue. Then Syed bhai’s wrangler was attached to musbah’s winch and FJ got recivered effectively. :ymapplause: :ymapplause: Brian has done a self recovery and stayed of safe sand. Musbah rescued dada’s car and dada advised all car’s to go out from the no-way point to the Track, Again dada got stuck #:-s and self recovered with guidance from Thanseer, Musbah & Syed. We all headed towards the end of the fence to look for a gate or open space to cross it. After a couple of rounds Thanseer got the open space (found through eagle eyes) and we headed towards the tracks of New Shwaib,

We met some of the member’s of convoy 2 at Adnoc petrol station. There we say “Ma as-salaamah” to Shwaib & Border of Oman.

:ymhug: :ymhug: Thanks to all who participated on this tremendous drive. Pictures are already uploaded to our Facebook group page. :thanks: :thanks:
    Hope i didn’t missed anyone.

When we reached the mountain & bowl, we have no idea what bowl is this 8-| 8-| 8-| , Then i though of naming it to Dada Bowl as he brought us there, When i was trying to add the name in google maps, Somebody already made the name as “Superbowl”… We will & still on to find another bowl to name “Dada Bowl” and will addedd to google maps for the future generation to experience… ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Excellent report David….thanks a ton for saving my time as theres hardly anything left to add on…. As Kumar said its really nice to see our members coming forward and writing detailed reports….thats the spirit…

@Kumar….the name “Dada Bowl” was recommended by David… It was defenitely a very nice bowl infact I liked it better than Iftar bowl….this too has some concrete in the centre…U must be knowing this for sure….

:thanks: to everyone who joined me in the convoy…..After Wasi ditched us ๐Ÿ˜€ in the morning I took Brian as my second lead followed by Rakesh who was accompanied with his dad, then David, Razik, Musbah & Aemi…..The moderator Thanseer SIR was also with us most of the time….

BIG thanks to Brian and Nikki for the awesome cupcakes and specially the “DO” mark on it…that was nice….

DO mugs were been given to Member of the weeks – Musbah, Sanjay & Brian by our most senior member – Thanseer SIR… This mug is a mark of appreciation to the members for their special contribution to the club in terms of driving skills, helpful & kind nature, attitude, commitment and dedication….

With the pleasent morning chilled climate, the drive took off well in the beginning when we entered through the farms behind Badayer……I immediately tried to give everyone a glimpse of how the entire drive is going to be….and everyone did a fantastic job….high dunes with crest cutting, slide slopes, ridges…..As we moved away from this place the dunes were not that high but the sand was absolutely soft….as Sayedbhai mentioned “Powder”. I had to caution Brian in following me a couple of times as I could feel the enitre convoy could face some difficulty in some soft areas…..

Brian did a fabulous job as the second car taking care of the possibilities of the soft patches while the lead is judging the sand…It was indeed a joke when his tyre was popped out…and I couldnt believe it actually happened…but it was fixed in seconds….Well done Brian :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

Rakesh got the best experience of his desert driving today…. I hope he got the feeling of what is meant by an Intermediate level drive….at one time his dad came to me and said “I think my son has to do some more learner’s drives”. I totally agree with him, but the way Rakesh followed the tracks and dunes was amazing….atleast I must say that his level of confidence in crossing the dunes has gone much higher by now…… Great job Rakesh….keep driving with us and u will be flying in the sands one day (Pajero rocks) ๐Ÿ˜€

David also drove very well…At some times he was getting nervous and getting stuck…but thats the part of the game brother….no gain without pain….the more you get stuck, the more experienced driver u become….the next time you will always remember these minor mistakes and you will find a way to overcome this….I should also thank you for taking the responsibility of the photography session as I was totally concentrating on giving you guys an excellent driving experience today…

Razik’s improvement has been seen and he was with me both on Friday and Saturday drives….Well done Razik…keep up the spirit and theres a good future for you in Dubai Offroaders…. :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

A Snake is incomplete without its tail so am I without without my amazing sweepers – Musbah & Sayedbhai…. Thanks would be a very small thing to tell u….u guys deserve a :ymhug: :ymhug: :ymhug: and a ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^ for the excellent support and guidance provided to everyone in the convoy…. I dont think without his winch I could have come out of that sinking sand area…..

Sayedbhai with all his expertise and his guidance over the radio for each and every move of a particular driver when he gets stuck or finds difficult to climb a dune….His soft words gives a sort of confidence to the members and this was told to me by Rakesh that he felt so relaxed that Sayedbhai was there to guide him everytime….. Gr8 job Sayedbhai… :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

The modertor was not everywhere this time…infact he was with us most of time…. His self recovery techniques has always been unique and a good lesson to everyone…. Thank you Thanseer SIR for everything….

Iam eagerly waiting for an amazing video from Musbah and also want to see the pictures posted by David…..Thanks David for also posting the drive details…..

Also waiting for SIR’s comments :-w

Thank you all for the lovely company and see you guys very soon for yet another thrill….

    Cheers

Another wonderful report….This shows that the tracks were interesting to all…

    February 17, 2013 at 7:45 am #23401

    David, Brian, Amjed

I am sure no one is trying to offence. Brian as a friend he didn’t mean to offence but he tried his best to suggest a unique nickname for my little Winch ๐Ÿ˜‰ In all cases I have chosen my nickname as Musbah because Musbah is my father name and I feel proud of using my dad name as a nickname (Always thinking of what to be done for my great father to payback the bill and I am sure that whatever we do in our short life will not make us capable to payback what our parents deserves) My ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^ to my parents and all parents.

    Best Regards
