View Map: http://goo.gl/maps/ybR7eAn absolute comeback drive for me after my vacation…..All my muscles and bones got loosened up after a long one month break…. ๐
To begin, we were 5 cars in the convoy lead by our Lead – Colonel GKumar (Tiger)…As per his PM, we all met at Adnoc petrol station – Al Faqa at 6.45am and at 7 am we proceeded towards the deflation point just before Shwaib….a short breifing about the drive plan and the journey..and here we go….
The convoy was led by Kumar, followed by myself as the second car, Amjed, Ashok and Humayun as the sweep…
The drive was really an intermediate level drive with all the experienced guys driving….testing their skills and ability….The dunes were not so big…but very tricky and soft….at some parts, maybe due to some shower the sand looks like hard, but when approached…was absolutely soft….
Kumar as we all know is a wonderful lead marshal and Dubai Offroaders Club is indeed blessed to have a such a marshal for the lead of any sort of drive….This particular drive had innumerous crest cutting and slide sloping….moreover every one had a good exercise for their hands and shoulders to move their steering as fast as possible for every small turn and climb…
I started the stuck-up session just towards the beginning as we were going to cut the crest and slide it down. Maybe after a break…I had lost the momentum and the trick….but as we say one mistake makes one perfect and after that we hardly had any stuck-ups and just went on and on with an absolute pace and momentum…There was a nice small pocket which we all crossed it very well with the marshal’s guidance….
We reached Iftar bowl at 10.15am and then proceeded towards Badayer and touched the termac at 10.45 am…
Overall, a very great drive covering an area of nearly 66kms….atleast for me to refresh and jump back to the sands…
Thanks a ton Kumar for the commitment as well as the great experience u gave us today…Everyone was at their best today… :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
See you all soon for the next drive and……… PR team….lets start planning for the Movie Night and the Karaoke Night….
I would also like to apologize to the club as I couldnt take much pictures today being the second car and had to sight the lead at such a pace drive….even then some pictures are posted on fb…pls do have a look… ๐
Cheers… :drive:quote Ganesh:An absolute comeback drive for me after my vacation…..All my muscles and bones got loosened up after a long one month break…. ๐To begin, we were 5 cars in the convoy lead by our Lead – Colonel GKumar (Tiger)…As per his PM, we all met at Adnoc petrol station – Al Faqa at 6.45am and at 7 am we proceeded towards the deflation point just before Shwaib….a short breifing about the drive plan and the journey..and here we go….

Cheers… :drive:Thank you Ganesh for the report, you well said it.
Kumar, …..it was awesome drive….. :thanks: :thanks:
Regards
Thnks Ganesh for the detailed report, for me it was something very different as I am jeeper but today was driving a monster ( Patrol) and this was the second time my patrol was on sands, thanks to Kumar for the excellent drive and guidance, i had gained the confidence of my monster how to handle it. It was excellent morning drive with small tricky dunes, soft sand and view of Ghazals in between.
thanks all other offroaders (Ganesh,Ashok & Humayun) hope to do a lot more of such drives.
thanks to Kumar for organizing this drive even though his family was not well!Thank you all for the great drive!!! Iam happy to know that u all enjoyed the drive and it was worth to spend the Saturday early morning lazy hours in sands ๐ Our formal reporter is back in action!!! ๐ :-BD Welcome back to sands Dada, Thanks for the detailed report :thanks:
quote Tushar:Loved the Entry point ๐Thanks goes to Sattu, for introducing me to this entry point and the tricky route :thanks:
We started moving at 7.20am after agreeing to maintain good pace for covering this long distance, before its gets hot. Finally, u guys made it happen to reach Iftar Bowl in less than 3 hours. Weather was slightly hot than we expected, may be the after rain impact, which also made judging the sand quite tough at some stretches.
Start was not so smooth as planned with a slightly bad ridge stuck for Dada and an awkward loud breaking noise from Humayun”s car, while attempting a self recovery ๐ฎ Mellowed down a little for warm up and later we have been cruising across the ridges, no hiccups at all :-BD :ymapplause: Indeed, it was an amazing group to drive with and i really enjoyed! ๐ Great team work and good coordination mattered alot for the quick recovery from a soft, steep and short bowl :-BD
Short break from sand didn”t had any impact on Dada, caught me on every turn being the 2nd lead ๐ Amjed again proved he is not only a Jeeper but also skilled enough to handle heavy cars effortlessly in tough terrains :-BD Ashok was awesome, usual excellent drive :ymapplause: Humayun, great support at sweep :thanks: your kamikaze factor was in my mind as an alternative for winch ๐ though we never had any such situations.
Thank you guys once again :thanks: Look forward to dive many more with you all ๐ :drive: :drive: :drive:
Guys,
I would say this was an excellent route, excellent lead, excellent team, excellent co-operation, excellent pace which made us to achieve 60 kms in 5min to 3hrs..
It was fun and looking forward to drive many more with you all. thanks to all this drive..
