Sizzling Saturday, March 07, 2009
10 cars in and 10 out. We had a late start due to late arrival of three cars. It was decided to wait and accommodate them as they were stated to be on their way to the rendezvous, but resulting in a 45 minutes overrun. Let’s try to avoid this for future trips.
First target was the Big Red. All 10 made it to the summit and posed for a picture opportunity for the cameras. Thereafter we split into 2 groups. Yours truly, Anand Srivastava, Pankaj Malik, Sanjay Hallon and Suri in Group One, followed by Ahmed Pervez, Naved Hassan, Saif, Ali xterra and Zaheer in Group Two.
Our drive was quite interesting thru the big dunes and bowls but mostly uneventful, except for crestings by Trooper and a LC one after another at the same spot. I leave it to Ahmed and/or Naved to describe their progress thru the route.
Both groups reached the play area near the pick rocks and everyone tried out their hands on the vertical limits of their cars. Thereafter all crossed over to the other side of pink rock and called it a day on the Nazwa-Madam Road.
The weather was nice, the track intermediate to challenging and overall it was a nice day out. Thanks a lot for all who came and enjoyed. Pictures awaiting trip album to be created.
