We experienced an unusual crash on last Saturday and the website went down. On examining, I found that multiple tables from the database were missing. My apologies for the inconvenience you faced without your favorite website.
We are back .. we are not going anywhere.
Special thanks to Faisal and Faheem for helping out. I really appreciate it guys. Thanks!
May 24, 2014 at 11:14 am #30251quote Asem Ahmed:thanks hamza for getting site online, we missed it. let us know if we can be of any help to you. We don’t want this to happen again. Thanks Asem. I have tightened the security on the website. I will be working on making the website more secure.
Keep your passwords hard to guess. Do not keep your car model or company as your password as that is easy to guess. I am tightening the password restrictions.

Hamza,
Are we going to use phpBB or switch to bulletin? If required we can raise funds to buy professional version of vBullitin. Old inference was really nice and easy. This is fine as well, we just need sometime to get use to it.

Asem, I am fully open to switching. The club is not making money, hence went for phpBB. Let’s switch if the members are upto it ๐
Thanks for the point.
This style is not a normal style. It is one of the very first responsive design templates for phpBB, meaning that it will resize and adjust to any device that you are using. Try it with laptop, ipad and iphone or any smartphone. You will see the “magic”. Lol. ๐
It has many other benefits. The old interface was using a modification which is no longer supported by the original developer. And was a mess to clean when the website went down. Hence I decided to get rid of it and come up with a much simpler responsive design website.

hamza,
maintenance is important during the run time, if its easy to manage then we can initiate and spread the word.
http://www.vbulletin.com/en/purchases/
vBulletin 5 Connect + Mobile Suite Bundle – USD 399/-
am not sure if following are required and cost;
1. Professional Install/Upgrade ($149)
2. Customization
3. Implementation (Data Migration, etc)register for demo version
http://www.vbulletin.com/en/vb5-trial/We need $25 contribution from at least 25 members (from list of 1,700 members) to make it work. We invest lot more into our vehicles and $25 is a very small amount comparatively. We buy Flag pols, radio, viking ropes, and more to keep us safe and connected. DO website is part of it as it bring all of us together and i think members should invest in this as well. any ways, its just a suggestion, if we are willing to go ahead then count me in.
suggestions please….
May 25, 2014 at 7:33 pm #30269Everyone! We are back to the old format. Uploading of images with just one click is possible on the activity page too. Just select all and upload.
Yohan, and all other trigger happy people ๐ Please choose 3 columns once the pictures are uploaded because that keeps the page structure nice and the pictures look nice.
Thanks.

May 26, 2014 at 3:39 pm #30280Guys, we are quite stable now. The only thing we should be doing in the near future is get a bigger server as our database is quite big. Let’s stick with this, so we are not re-inventing the wheel again. I think let’s stick with this, however we can start working towards buying the vB and change when we can, in the future ๐
