Thank you all for participation sensible individual treatment of dunes, capable drive you guys will rock.
All are Marshals in their own keep on practicing nobody is expert, learn on your own sense & treat your drive very carefully. You are the best institution till you have throttle, steering & sense to understand Engine sound.
Getting stuck is not a problem never under estimate yourself treat as adventure >> Nobody can fight with nature if anyone act as over smart / under estimate / over confidence & criticize anyone he than understand the power of nature within no time.
Asking questions is intelligence, making criticism is illiteracy.
See you all on more adventurous trips

Myself and three others got lost on our way back. Following Bibin after his 16th self recovery ๐ , we ended up in the middle of no where. Apparantely there wasn’t a sweep and radio seemed helpless  .We like the wise men followed a shining star which lead us to Bethlehem. It may look easy, but nature has to be treated with care & caution…always.
The basic rules of convoy management still apply even if the main drive is finished, till one reaches tarmac…this is one topic discussed on each single briefing & still gets neglected most of the time.quote roshanvi:Thanks for the Good trip guys. My point is it was a great trip …… and ppl really appreciate the efforts of our marshalls for these trips. got it??
hi thre sorry for the late reply, but wud like to add a point
i think the marshals were good, they were there when needed, but the problem was the people not follwing the rules when somebody gets stuck, they tend to do their own things, i think we shud empasise more on convoy discipline, with the people and it shud work out perfectly fine
Thnx & regrds
NavinSeptember 14, 2008 at 2:04 pm #7359My ultimate objective is to have every member of this club at the same skill & discipline level as the Marshals…
There are 2 kinds of desert drivers…
those who make mistakes & learn…and progress in their driving & comprehension of the sand/ vehicles/ navigation/ rescue…one always keeps on learning…then there are those who are just there for their adrenaline fix…thrashing their cars years on end…we need to give these a wide berth too…these could be dangerous too in their mad boy racer’s rush…
AnonymousSeptember 15, 2008 at 4:21 pm #7376Very true.
This drive was difficult.
we do mistakes….we learn….we try not to repeat and improve.I had a thesis advisor when I was a student who used to say:
Good judgment comes from experience
Experience comes from bad judgment….karim
