Has anyone visited Sur in Oman? If so, could you please provide some information about it?

Stayed at the Taj there on my way to Salalah… The place has a nice beach. Overall, looks like a sleepy town… didn’t get an opportunity to explore the area… was more of a pit stop…
Maybe if you explore the nearby area, you might find a few interesting places to visit… Personally, I wouldn’t head there for a hoilday / offroading trip
We wanted to take the kids to Ras al Jinz to see turtles laying eggs and i think thats the only attraction there. Needed some more info about camping out there etc.
