Hi,
I just bought 2015 FJ GXR.
As of now I don’t want to do any lift kit installation and rim change.
Current tires are really in bad shape.
I have 3 options for A/T Tires.
BF Goodrich
Cooper
KumhoWhich one I should go for with good traction in sand and low noise on the road.
Also, please guide me, where to go for
Skit Plate Installation,
Flag Mount
Fog LightsRegards,
Ashraf
Cooper AT3 are the BEST in my opinion 285/70R17. i have done around 70k+ kms on these tires and they still have plenty of life left. Further, these have very good grip on sand.
Flag mount and skid plate you could go to Titan Performance or Bestline Garage. There are plenty other garages too but these are the ones that i have tried.
y do you want fog lights for desert driving?

Hi Asim,
Do u use spacers and which ones? I also have same tires but my tires touch whenever I am taking a full turn. The wheel alignment reduced it a bit but didnt completely solve it.quote ashrough2001 post_id=47189 time=1525697821 user_id=25705:Hi,I just bought 2015 FJ GXR.

I have done the flag mount and skid plate from Radical Motorsports (0569797399 Mr Saad) and I am very happy with their work and service. Mr Saad will also give you good tips on offroading ๐ :drive: ๐

Hi Asim,

with 285 tires you will require a body mount chop from a garage. they will slice a portion of the body mounts which are under the front door hinges. A quick search on google will elaborate this mod. Hopefully then your tires will not rub. Do u run spacers? In the affirmative if you remove the spacers the tires will not rub.
i have beadlocks with -tve 38mm offset and without spacers. Plus i run TC heim join UCA which allow maximum tuning of caster and camber. #NoRubbing

Thanks a lot Asim. I was told about the body mount chop but I was skeptical from RTA approval point of view during renewals thats y didnt do it. I thought reducing to 275 was a better option as almost everyone who is using 275 is not facing this problem of rubbing. Putting in 1.5 mm spacers was another option but changing the tires will cost the same esp If i go for H&R.

I don’t know which type of lights I need.
I thought those are fog lights, which people need for night driving in Desert.

Ashraf, i would suggest getting only a skid plate at the moment along with a flag mount.. you may later decide to get an LED light bar after meeting and discussing with fellow offroaders during our friday drives.
btw from ur profile i understand that u have a jeep, have you ditched your jeep in favor of THE FJ?

OK, I can wait ๐ Thanks
Actually I was driving rent a car from last 6 months (Once or twice/month), Hertz only have Modified wranglers.
Now investing in my on off-roading vehicle.

Ashraf
275 & down no problems
285 & up need body lift kit -wheel spacers- bumps stop – recalibrate the speed meter unit & axle differential pinion gear upgrade to still have power form stock engine with big tires and better fuel economy
narrow tires with high profile will give better performance than wide tires like 265/70R17 for yours FJ
i am running 265 75 r16X7 on my LC71 stock power & no lift
