quote Vijay Hegde:@zarir, I like the thread pattern of AT3, I checked cooper site and it is available in the size I need which is OE for SWB pajero. Can you please tell whether they are heavy like BFGs, I too have grandtrek right now which I have been using on/off road for last 10K kms, have been to 6 drives so far
The AT3s are not heavy like the BFGs so you should be fine. Please do not go by the Cooper site as not all sizes are imported here by the distributor. Speak to the distributor and see if he has your size.
quote yohanbaria:quote zarir:@vijayhedge a few fils from my side to add to denis’s cents.imho the bfg would not be apt for your ride. the bfgs are indeed aggresive looking and long lasting but quite heavy. dont subject the pajero to this torture.
my pajero had the dunlop grandtrek and never had any complaints. neither onroad nor offroad. this year moved to yokohoma geolander. but the pajero for the last 2 years is purely for on road so dont know how the geos would be off road. between the grandtrek and the geos, while the geos were cheaper, i found the geos to be slightly more noisy on tarmac.
cooper at3 – just love them. have them on my fj since 2 years and absolutely no regrets. i would definately replace this set with another at3 set when the time comes. infact wanted them for the pajero also but didnt get them in oe size.
as you rightly said, the wobble is more a function of the alignment and not the tyre brand.
As always thank you for the advice as a matter of fact I’m changing my tyres on saturday, and was looking at the cooper at3 only! Where is the best place to get them ? :thanks:
Its best to get them from the official Cooper Tyres distributor for UAE.
Radial Tyres – 04 2669166 – Jimmy Irani
Located between Galadari and Salahuddin Road – Near Abu Baker Al Siddique Metro StationPlease check on the size availability as they do not import the Pajero OE size here. He will also check his next 2 – 3 containers and tell you if anything is in the pipeline but he cannot specifically import them. Its a better expereience if you go and talk personally.
Vijay / Yohan – Please feel free to call me if you need more details or directions.
quote Saj:Hi VijayI couldn’t insert a table in the reply box so have taken a pic and uploaded it. Hope it helps.

I think I’m sold on the Michelin ltx as they are ”excellent” on road and sand this just confirmed my doubt have been researching on many pajero forums!
thank you
Okay guys so i was doing some research and have searched the forum already dint find much on these, i have changed my mind to the Firestone Destination A/T they are ”said” to be the best for both on and off road purposes, practically noiseless and good tread wear as well, this is coming straight from various websites and forums so if anyone has them on or knows about them you’re insight would be much preferred.
Some ”trusted sites reviews” as follows
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Firestone&tireModel=Destination+A%2FT
http://www.1010tires.com/Tires/Reviews/Firestone/Destination+A-T
http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/wheels-tires/129-0504-firestone-destination-at-tire-test/The best part is they also have the size I’m looking for. :thanks:

They will certainly do the job, they are much like my Goodyear Wrangler A/T’s which are brilliant in the sand.
I saw these tires in a showroom behind Dubai Garden Center, but size was 265/75/R16 instead of 265/70/R16, do u guys think that will really make some huge difference? price he quoted was around 500 i guess per tire. By the way, firestone is also a product of Bridgestone if am not wrong

Any OE tyres will do the job on the road and sand. It’s a safe bet.

Yes, Firestone belongs to Bridgestone .
