    Hi Dhaval,

You need to go for trolley jack of minimum 3 ton. I believe the cost ranges from AED.160 to AED.650 Final price depends on your negotiation skills. If affordable, look for something similar in the picture at Dragon Mart. Its aluminium jack and its super effective. Mathews is having an aluminium jack, please check with him. I believe it costed him around AED.650/-

I have once inquired about branded trolley jack – for eg:- Mega, Made in Spain. Very light, powerful, high uplift but was costing AED.1350 for 3 Ton.

I saw various options for showels – foldable, light weight etc at ACE Hardware, Dubai Festival City.
You may also find few big light weight showels at Carrefour, Gardening division – Deira City Centre

    Hi Dhaval,

I have a Fiskar brand aluminium shovel which is extremely light weight …. available from Speedex or Ace for around Aed100.

    Hi Dhaval,

I was just about to write when I saw Kumar’s post. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
What he says about Sanjay Matthews jack is very true, :ymapplause: it is a very nice piece of kit all the more so because it can lift to around 500mm. There are drawbacks of course, it’s quite big physically and storage could be a hassle if you are short of room or the vehicle has to be emptied for week time duties. Having said that it’s also quite light being of an alloy construction, it also has a super long telescopic handle. However it is quite pricey too ๐Ÿ˜•

I notice that when we lifted you on the pop-out you had on a trip couple of weeks back a small 2ton jack was used by the Marshall’s, similarly the same jack was used on my ghost town popout. This type of jack is limited in the height it can lift to being around 310mm, therefore one has to be prepared to dig out under the wheel to be able to get clearance for the popin or wheel change depending on the circumstances. This type of steel jack comes in a handy plastic box, is convenient to load and store and they also come in a low profile version that lifts to the same height, handy for lifting if there’s not much clearance available. These are available in 2 or 3 ton versions, the physical size is almost the same. In either size they sell for 100 -120dhr in Dragon Mart from at least 4 different shops.

I saw Sanjay Matthews jack in action for the first time 2weekends ago when it was used to lift Musbah, it is a very nice bit of kit. I am little envious having just bought the day before a 2ton low profile one in a ‘nice’ plastic box for 110Dhr in DM. If I was doing this again, or when I can sell my brand new unused jack at a reduced bargain price of 90dhrs (yours if you wish delivered to you on Friday ๐Ÿ˜€ ), I will invest in a similar jack to Matthews even though the storage issue will probably mean I will have to get serious about dividing the trunk up to safety, conveniently transport our off-road gear.

Shovel: I researched quite a few types, my personal opinion is that the folding types are a waste of space and a bit of a marketing gimick and not cheap. Ace is in my view expensive comparing identical items in other suppliers, Carrefour for example. The bigger garden types of spade are a hassle to carry & heavy. I settled for a lightweight alloy and ABS jobbie, brand name ‘Fiskars’ they make a lot of kit for gardeners. It has been in use more than a few times, has a wide blade and is small enough to get under a vehicle, stores easily but not cheap 100Dhr+

    Hope this helps

    Hi Zarir,
    Here the shot you requested

Re origin ๐Ÿ˜• , Nikki actually bought this bit of kit, my memory failed me yesterday sadly:( It’s a Fiskars brand shovel from ACE. I think Iqsaan also bought this model, so my apologies for the misleading info and the hypocrisy as well :yesss:

However it is a good bit of kit ๐Ÿ˜€
also the trolley jack for Dhaval.

At yellow hat on Nad Al Hammar I saw a 3 ton jack for 250/-

Pretty decent stuff I thought with an elevation range upto 15inch (just about 90ยฐ lift)

Its called the channel 9 and imported by some dealer at Nasser square.

Just about 4-5 kgs net weight including the plastic case.

I was impressed with the release spring unlike other jacks I saw lately which jus falls and the vehicle drops with a jerk… ๐Ÿ˜€

    Check it out ๐Ÿ˜‰

Went to Dubai Gradens Center in Shk. Zyed Road price for the Fiskar Shovel (same like Brian) was AED 145/- then went to SpeedEx Behind Oasis Center Shk. Zyed Road and price was AED 100/- so picked it up.

For the trolley jack would do some more reserach.

Thanks a lot to every one for valauble input.
