Golden Cars in Sharjah is the best bet. I got mine changed from there and subsequently guided Anil Berry also to the same place.

Your best bet would be to go any Australian brand like Emu Strongman… or something similar.

The damages would be Dhs. 2500-3000 or thereabout (including fitting)… Your ground clearance will gain an extra inch… and the ride through the dunes will be much more stable and controlled.

Golden Cars have their own garage at the backside that can fix the shocks for you in a couple of hours…

I don’t have their number, but you can look them up in the Yellow Pages… or just Google.

    Hope that helps

I am just putting in details of what i know about Nissan patrol and their modifications

Lift kit i had checked in Icon work shop in al quoz 2 months back, they have EFS brand – 2″ would cost around 2920/-
    labour charge of – 1280/-
    and wheel alignment of 150/-

No, i did not get it done my suspension at all and the above mentioned was little expensive for me

The next would be changing the air filter system to K & N which you might find it in Ramy trading near danata, it increases the horse power by a little bit and exhaust sound would be like a sports car, but not so loud

The last but my favourite is the tyres which i have a very good experience, because my vehicle has it

Siam tyres – undoubtdly the best in desert, gives the vehicle a lift as well, that clearance would be sufficient enough, they work also very well in soft sand
But must say in the road your steering wheel will wobble until the air in the tyre gets warm, and not good for wet roads as it skids. But if you are mostly gonna use it for desert then Siam is the best
Other wise something which is good on the road and desert (not as siam) would be Michelin LTX

    Adeel Bhai,
My feeling is that most of these high end cars be it Nissan Patrol, Land Cruiser, Land Rovers even the Gelandewagen are good even in stock form for most of our applications.

The other aspect is if the car is a dedicated desert ride or is it used daily?
I would not like my Landcruiser wobbling on my way to a meeting!

That essentially eliminates any major modification/s except, perhaps what Navin suggested on Shocks & coils, Air filter & maybe on Spark plug, ignition coil & wires.

I did not like the wobbling that sand tyres produce, so they are out for me.

Thanks Ahmed Bhai. The truck is a dual purpose vehicle so yeah the sand tires r out me as well. We do a lot of wadis and mountains so something like all terrain. I’ll do a trip in the sand and the wadi with what it is at the moment and would let u know how it performed.

Thanks Navin for ur input, btw how much is K&N filter and u mentioned there is a little bit of kick in horse power???

One more question for u as u drive a patrol. I noticed that this vehicle lags in the initial kick so the start is a bit slow…what could b the reason? When I bought it I got all the oils changed including differentials and transmission and the spark plugs were also replaced just fyi.

Just like Naveen said, Siams are the best on sand. My late FJ (RIP) could tackle any dune because of these tyres. I used to drive them at 12 psi. Then again, the wobbling was hedious. You would gain a decent clearance with these tyres too. So that would save your lift kits.
Mine was not Siam brand, they were called Zeetex. I got 4 new tyres for 800 bucks !!
Michelin LTX is the next best. The locals used these too.

K&N’s made a difference in my torque. Then again, you’ll need to clean the filters every alternate drives coz you’ll find sand all over the cone. A prefilter cover would help a bit. I bought a pair of these off Amazon.
