    Objective: to reaffirm our commitment to our environment in general and the UAE desert in particular. We plan to cover the route of the recent Gulf News Fun Drive and clear the desert of the undesirable trash left by the participants of the recent Gulf New Fun Drive.
    Plan: we split ourselves into two groups:
    – Group A: Led by Jessil and starts from the UAQ Motorsports complex, the start point of the GNFD 2010
    – Group B: Led by Ajay and starts from the Campsite at the Jebel Ali Lehbab road, the finish line of the GNFD 2010
    Both groups shall drive in the opposite direction and shall meet at the end of the day at a pre-agreed midway spot and shall enjoy the evening with a BBQ and beverages of their choice.
    Terrain: a mix of dunes and tracks
    Trip starts on: January 22, 2010, Morning 0945 hrs
    Trip ends on: January 22, 2010, Evening 1600 hrs followed by a BBQ evening

    Level and skill required: Intermediate (fewbies welcome)
    Families / Children : Welcome but not advisable to bring small children since this will require more stopovers and will hamper the pace of the drive.

    This is an excellent opportunity for you to :– Care for and work for your environment
    – Redo the fun drive without any pressure of making it to the cut-off point by 2PM
    – Do the sections of the GNFD 2010 route that you could not finish on the day of the event or if you were left out because of reaching late at the cut off point
    – Experience the fun drive route if you could/did not participate in the drive for any reason

    So, we request you to make yourself available and lend support to this valuable social cause. Interested members may put in their names below against the appropriate group they want to join.

    While all standard recovery kit is mandatory, all participating members are required to necessarily carry the following. Please remember NO KIT – NO TRIP:
    – Rated Tow rope and 4 shackles
    – Radio with ample number of spare batteries
    – Tyre repair kit
    – Air compressor
    – Flag

    We are also arranging T-shirts (one for each car) to commemorate the event. Please write your T-Shirt size against your name.

    Thats a great idea and I would’ve loved to join but we are going out on a family camping this weekend. Hence going to miss this one.
