    Hello comrades
Since I join the club couple years ago my first shock was how much trash in a desert some people leave after campings/BBQ or simply stop in a desert. How people really dont care about place they live, I mean not particular country, we all kids of planet Earth!!!
As a result of such bad behaving we have closed any activities in Al Qudra. I been part of project team at Mleiha Archaeological centre and should discover around a bit last few years and last drive through Fossil Rock put me in a shock, how much garbage left this year. And unfortunately not only Mleiha, we saw lots of trash in Liwa, Sweihan and Badayer has I think tons of trash. Been a deputy im not only a sweeper of convoy. Sometimes u are literally a sweeper!!! I always picking up garbage left from our convoy, small bottles or cans after stops in a desert, couple times spotted a car from which window guys just throw cola cans, always returned it to owner X( Im not trying to be good and make someone bad, but honestly speaking its not enjoyable to drive through trash.
I know its sounds stupid, but lets give something back to desert, I mean lets clean a small portions on our way.
I would be happy to make a Clean Up drives through small portions if any Marshall willing to take this responsibility with me to do that, I believe that we can do drive and stop for few minutes at some polluted spots to do clean up for 10 minutes and then enjoy driving. I strongly believe that some DO drivers will be happy to do that with me :thanks:
Lets pick up day and time… ๐Ÿ˜‰
    Thanks
    Alex

    Hello Alex,

I fully support your idea for desert clean up activities or even dedicated DO clean up drives. I also hate seeing the tremendous amount of litter other people leave behind, whereas our motto should be: leave only your tire marks in the desert. (… and maybe your sweat and tears ๐Ÿ˜€ )

I encourage all fellow DO member to press the I’M IN button to show their support and willingness to do something good!
If any such drive will be arranged, I’ll do my best to participate actively. :thanks:

Yes Alex. I’m 100% down for this. I just hope I’m not working/away when it happens. Littering is the worse thing anyone could do.
Bring on the clean up drive ๐Ÿ˜€

I am fully supporting this Alex. We definitely should do something about it.
I am in for clean drives anytime. :drive:

    Great initiative! I’m in!

Maybe we can get in touch with “trasharoo” and get them to promote/sponsor cleaning up off-road. I think everyone needs to carry one when camping.

Excellent initiative on bringing up this topic Alex.
We, the management of DO have been discussing this for ages but never got down to getting our hands dirty, literally & figuratively…
I just sent an e-mail to Dubai Municipality for some pointers/ suggestions and support.
    Let’s wait for their response.

Its good to see many ppl IN. I already started my journey last drives, don’t wanna be desperate and convince ppl to do that with me, but we can arrange something for next weekend. I would like to do that for sure!
    Thanks to all.

Hey, great idea and I’m 100% in for this. It literally is shocking the amount of crap you see in the desert (not just japanese off road vehicles hahaha) all joking aside, I’d be game for this on a Fri/Sat afternoon
