Day and date: Fri & Sat Nov 4th & 5th
Meeting Point: Day 1 is at Caduceus Medical training facility in JLT; Day 2 will be in the field (desert, mountain, wadi, etc)
Meeting Time: 0800-1800 on both days
    Duration: 2 days

Dubai Offroaders has teamed up with Caduceus Medical training to offer a discounted training Wilderness First Aid program for DO members. This is an opportunity for you to learn basic but essential life-saving techniques should you face a medical emergency while enjoying the wild, outdoor environment. The course will train you on standard first aid as well as first aid specific to our outdoor enviroments. This course is certified by the Emergency Care & Safety Institute in the USA, one of the main certifying bodies in the US. This is the same course used by Boy Scouts of America and US ski patrols to name a few. You can read more about it here:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilderness_medical_emergency#First_aid

The course will be over 2 days. The first day in a classroom and the second day out in the field somewhere TBD. This will give the participants a great opportunity not to just learn what to do in a crisis situation but also practice it first hand. There will be some pre-class, online work to be done as well but with a limited time requirement.

Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate valid for 2 years. This certification is issued by ECSI and is accredited locally by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS).

The course fee for DO members is AED 899 paid directly to Caduceus Medical Training Institute.

The course is limited to 12 participants and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis (based on payment). Should there be more demand then more courses would be offered. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to participate.

That is a nice idea Asim. Let’s talk to Hamza and see if it can be done.

I’ve actually done the Wilderness First Aid with William of Caduceus. It’s well taught, comprehensive and if you ask, can be specifically tailored to your requirements.

    Highly recommend it.
