quote robinsonleiva:Kumar, see? I did it again. Now I am registered for your trip…do you have one? And I am still not available to register to the real one on Friday! :-s
Rob, are you able to access the orange tab “Register for the Drive” below the very first post of the drive by Tushar. I believe it should work ๐

Can you clear your browser cache and check again? You should be able to see the Register for trip. I could see it when I assigned your account’s permissions to my account.
quote robinsonleiva:Tha is the problem, I dont see the one in the original post….but I see one again on your recently postRob, still the problem persists? However, I have registered your name directly in the list. See you then tomorrow afternoon in sand. :drive: :drive: :drive:
June 22, 2012 at 6:07 pm #17507quote samjed46:excellent drive, superb lead by Ahmed bhai and sweep with Kumar & Humayun! enjoyed every bit of the driveCorrection…
The Drive was led by Our Senior Marshall Mr. Ajay Sikri, I was a passenger in the lead car.
This was just a small glimpse…we are planning a few major expedition type Drives with Ajay in the lead, this coming season including a 3 day Expedition to the famed Wahiba Sands!!!Absolute amazing drive…..It was pleasure meeting “The Liwa Legend” – Mr. Ajay….thanks a ton Sir for the awesome lead along with Ahmed Sir….. :thanks:
We all met at the meeting point – Tawi Nizwa and as mentioned in the post the entire convoy was divided in two groups….earlier it was decided that Kumar will lead the intermediate convoy…but then it was a surprise for all of us see Mr. Ajay with Mr.Ahmed to lead the intermediate group and Kumar as the sweep……it was absolutely amazing…..the New+Few Bees were led by Tushar with Jerry as the sweep.
The drive started at 4.30 p.m. from the deflation point and I was the second car in the convoy following the lead marshal. I was overwhelmed and excited to enjoy the drive led by Mr. Ajay….the entire drive had everything in it and everyone did absolutely well….Rob had a few stuck-ups in between but was easily rescued by our trained sweeps.
Both the convoys met at the pink rock where we had some photo session and then Tushar led everyone in a single convoy to the road. In between my car was a bit heated up but was fine in few seconds….
Towards the end, when we reached the road, Kumar led some of us to Tawi Nizwa via sand dunes…
Humayun was eager to spend some more time as he is so fond of the night life in the desert, but then we managed to reach back to Tawi at 7.30 and moved towards home…
Today we didnt have any pop-outs or major stuck-ups….so everyone drove very well and had a fantastic evening.
Ahmed Sir and Mr. Ajay…thank you so much for your presence and the lead….we would like to have your expert comments too….
I have already posted the pics in the gallery as well as our facebook page…pls do have a look…
Tushar pls upload the pics as well want to hear about your convoy performance…
See you all again for the next drive…..cheers
Very good report Ganesh :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: and thanks for the excellent pictures.
Thanks to the Liwa Legend, Ajay Sikri and Ahmed Bhai for the safe and excellent lead :thanks:
Today Rob was driving with a half down battery ๐ ๐ At one point Rob got crested and in the recovery attempt Humayun got stuck with a tightened tow rope between the cars. However we recovered quickly and proceeded :-BD very good drive by Ganesh, Ricardo & Amjed :ymapplause: :-BD
Thanks to Tushar for choosing an excellent track for the return trip to enjoy the sands with great momentum. We hit the tarmac by 6.45pm. Few of us who were not in hurry, proceeded Tawi Nazwa via tracks with some skill refreshments :drive: Humayun was still craving for the sand, however we could manage to bring him with us to Tawi Nazwa shops ๐
Though we started the drive late at 4.40pm, the temperature was around 47 degrees ๐ฎ and most of us were very much concerned about the temp. gauge :-s which indicated the maximum. Summer reaching to its peak had started killing the enjoyment of we offroaders ๐
See you all again very soon in the sand :drive:
Thanks for this smooth nice drive in the area. Everyone in the convoy performed very well and good to see that all cars did not have overheat issues despite the high temperatures.
I am really looking forward to join the expeditions in Oman and UAE this coming season!
June 23, 2012 at 11:46 am #17512Great job by Tushar as the newbie lead. All of the members of the newbie convoy did extremely well, with no stuck ups and my job as sweep being one of the most non eventfull ones ever! Good thing too , with the temperature hovering around 50 degrees! It was great to see the Liwa Legend Ajay in action along with Ahmed Bhai. Despite the heat a great turnout and one of the few drives where , driving was all that was to do!
:thanks: See you all again next week! :drive:
It was a good day out and a bonus drive for me. Bonus because the Drive was not a part of my short trip to Dubai, but when Pervez bhai mentioned about the drive, i couldn’t resist the temptation.
Leading one convoy was impromptu for me and was as unplanned as my participation in the drive. Without a GPS, I just followed my gut feel and picked up an interesting line thru the intermediate dunes and bowls. I am glad you all enjoyed it.
For me personally, the icing on the cake was, meeting so many new friends. let’s see, when can I join you guys next.
Keeping driving :drive: and leave interesting tracks behind…….. ๐
