Movie night has been an amazing outing for all the family and a great great success both the times. I personally love to go and hunt for the spot with the guys! Hopefully I will be there to do the same this year too! ๐Ÿ˜€ The movie nights, not only were covered by The National, we also had the pleasure of company of the airmen from Fujairah Aviation Academy on both the movie nights! Hence, participation of the people who are not off roaders!

Karaoke night, Tushar, we also had a sneak preview in one of the night drives, when Imran sang very well. The second movie night of the last season before everyone came!

The Liwa is the final exam when my dad and Ajay uncle will test everyone! :p A Liwa drive many times decides the promotion of a number of members to marshal status! So it is not to be missed. My personal advice to all the members ๐Ÿ˜‰

And the family outing to Liwa obviously is great! And speaks for itself ๐Ÿ˜‰

I am hoping that we might have a Wahiba Sands too this year, depending on how things work out! Because that needs preparation much in advance. We will announce that on the forum shortly.

Enough talking from me, now your turn. Shoot your ideas! ๐Ÿ˜€

    This looks promising…

I second Hummayun suggestion, we need to add Mussandam to the list … If someone has other suggestion, why not … let’s put everything on the table Jebel Jais any one ?

That’s a great idea Tushar to plan this year’s season, Excellent!!!
The desert nearer to home are vanishing and we will have to plan a few camping trips to Oman this year.
Musandam, as Humayoon suggested is a good idea, but this is essentially a family oriented Camping, boating trip rather than a driving excursion.
I am planning a 4 day Wahiba Trip this year on the National Day holidays starting on Thursday the 29th of November to be back in Dubai on Sunday the 2nd of December, This will be an invitation only Extreme trip for qualified drivers only.
We could also plan a couple of 2 day Wadi trips to Oman covering some beautiful Mountainous and Wadi areas, These will offer excellent photo opportunities and will be of special interest to the photographers in the group especially you Tushar and Brian.
So let’s make a tentative table with dates based upon these suggestions so that the exact plans could be finalised.

Any training drives planned for the near future? I would definately like to have some experience of leading a small group / planning a route / navigating / rescue techniques. Anyone else interested???

    Thanks Andy,
We will plan a couple of Tutorial type Drives, once the weather cools down a bit.
Though the best way to learn in my experience is hands on…on the drives… to observe and assist on the drives themselves.
Driving in the sand is the most rudimentary skill and very easily acquired…just a couple of drives would give the basic understanding.
It is the Navigation, rescue and handling of emergencies that are, in my opinion more important…and need time and patience…
So just make sure that you participate in as many drives as possible and you are on your way…
There is a grading system in the group and when you are ready we will put you to leading some drives too!!!
