Wrangler or Prado?

Hello fellow DO’s,
I’m in a bit of a conundrum. I have been driving the wife’s Prado in the desert for some time and truly enjoy it, no major issues except for the occasional bumper “extraction”. I feel I don’t want to take the risk of causing any damage to her car so thought of getting a Wrangler to be used specifically for the desert.
What are your thoughts? is it a good car for the desert? I haven’t driven one for at least 10 years. How does it compare to a Prado? should I go for a 2-door or 4-door? or should I just stick to Prado?
Would appreciate your comments and thoughts on the subject if you have any.
Thanks
Amin

Thanks Kumar for the great insight! It is because I love the Prado that I was a bit torn about what type of car to have for the desert. I might just have to buy the Missus a new car and keep her current one for me to use in the desert ๐
I was very interested about the comments regarding the suspension. I checked at Ramy 4×4 and they had some suspension kit which, according to them, gives a better performance for the Prado. He did say that the car would be raised by about 2 – 2.5″ but reading your comments, I am concerned about the loss of balance. Have you heard anything else lately? This is actually one of the major gripes I have with the Prado, is that it tends to bounce around a bit.

Bubbab,
I would recommend you to drive the car on stock condition for some more drives untill you become Intermediate level driver and then afterwards if you feel necessary to do the uplifting it can be done.
Time being do not waste your money on these stuff pls..

:))Well actually that was exactly the plan ๐ that or I keep the Prado and buy a 2-door Jeep as the “desert car” ๐
