Congrats Kumar! We haven’t met in a while but I know you deserve the recognition.
I hope we’ll meet again somewhere this year. Was watching the Dakar reports on TV, saw those amazing cars driving in the sand and that made me wanna go back to the sands instantly.
Take care!
The steel thingy that is on the flag poles you get at those dragonmart ATV shops can easily be removed. you can just slide it off.
Go to the bathroom supplies section at dragon mart to find the suction cups and then get some hoseclamps from ace to secure the flag pole to the suction cup.
Just for my curiosity: Would it be better to have a soft shackle with lower rating then your snatchstrap or higher? In other words, which part do we want to fail first? The strap or the shackle. In case of a metal shackle I think I would want my strap to fail instead of the shackle because that would be less dangerous. But what about when we use a soft shackle?
So finally you are going to leave us ๐ =((
Chris, you are a true offroader and a quick learner who picked up the trade in a very short span of time. I still remember your initial offroad days with us, in my convoy – got stuck at the entry point itself at Area 53 without a tow hooks for recovery ๐ On a quick recall, its evident that you have come far far ahead buddy :-BD Your sincerity, dedication and discipline had paid you off very well :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
I am sure the stuff you learned here will come to use some where at some point of time…. ๐
You will be away from us in sands but not from here in the forum… ๐
Yeah I remember that. Just a hook at the rear ๐ but the expert DO staff got me out anyways :ymhug:
Thanks for your kind words. It’s been an amazing 6 months with DO! As you said, I learned a lot and am really thankfull to all DO marshals and senior members who helped me improve my skills. I’ll remember DO as a fantastic group of people. I am sure I’ll be back at some point in time! maybe just for a vacation but still….
I’ll try to stay on the forum. At least if I can take it reading all the stories without being able to participate :-s.
Very nice and interesting drive today! The ghosts haunted us at the pyramids but we beat them and entered their village anyways :ymdevil:
:thanks: to Kumar for the briliant lead and a special thank you to our one and only winchman :ymhug:. He rescued me from a rather difficult spot and some others as well.
:thanks: everybody for the nice company and memorable drive.
