Hi all – I love how organized this forum and the different trips seem to be. Just re-read the rules and I have a question.
Is it necessary to have hitch/anchor points on both the front and the back of ones car to join? This isn’t really specified in the “Equipment that one needs for offroading” link.. I don’t have any on the back (yet).
I can come up with at least a couple of situations where it would be very difficult to get “towing” assistance just from the front of the car.
Thanks in advance

Thank you for your reply Duncan :thanks:
I went ahead and got the Sand Flag you linked to via the warehouse in Ras Al Khor, unfortunately I can’t attach it to my car. Or at least I’m out of ideas as where to install it.
I think I’ll just go ahead and order the Sticky Whips from the states. Let me know if anyone needs some, then we could share parts of the shipping cost.
I already have the walkie talkie and tire deflators. I’m hoping to join tomorrows drive even without being able to attach the stupid flag. Maybe I could tape it to one of the windows on my car?

Hi fellow DOs
I’m Jonas Mellquist, Danish nationality, mid thirtees. Living here in Dubai with my wife
Occupation: Software Tester
Residency: Dubai Festival City
My vehicle: Jeep GC Overland v8 2014, still stock
Considering adding more suided tires and will definitely add a hitch for the back soon.
I’m new to off-roading. Have only been in the desert driving a few times. Took a desert driving course with EDI last year, loved it and decided to get a 4×4 car..
I look forward to joining a newbie trip soon!
Just have to go find a walkie-talkie first – and possibly get the hitch for the back of my ride.. And some Maxtrax or similar if I can find them anywhere. They seem to be out of stock everywhere ๐
