Hey Saif!
Nope, but don’t really need the winches anymore so getting rid of them, rather than storing them. ๐
Congrats Rob!!!!! :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

I was always lucky to have the tiger (one of the best ) to learn from and support from my friends!
Just my 2 cents for you Jamshed, First :ymhug: :ymhug: :ymhug: (Courageous owners of New Patrols in the desert are a rare breed!!! ) As Ganesh says, a couple of more drives and you will get the hang of it. Really takes a while to learn to master the beast as I know first hand! Good news though, If you can drive the New Patrol “safely”, anything else is a cakewalk!! ๐
Congratulations kumar! Great to see you up there brigadier sir!!! :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

Well done guys!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! :ymparty: :ymparty: :ymparty:
Guys,
What we do is just for fun, but the fun seems to have been sucked out with this recent development. ๐ What is necessary though is a clear understanding to all members of the reasons why not just one , but 3 brigadiers including our chief and chief of the offroad rescue unit have left/were asked to leave. As Abdullah has written, all members can see what each of them, Ali, Tushar, Sam have done in the past few events alone, and the dedication and committment they have shown to the club. All I can ask the management of Dubai Offroaders is to put everything in the open , so that all members can understand and learn from this experience, rather that simply state just for fun and sweep this under the carpet.
This is the second time a group of marshals has left/been asked to leave in as many years, and I for one would like to know what mistakes were committed to at least have a mechanism to avoid this in the future.
I am proud of being associated with Dubai Offroaders, and this recent development pains me as it does our other members very much. Clarity in understanding would give confidence to all of us in the club and according to me at least is very much the need of the hour.
Please disregard my comments, if they are offensive to any one or if I have overstepped my bounds.
Gr8 job by everyone in the convoy. I could see very good future offroaders in everyone in the convoy. As I said , getting stuck is part of the learning process and everyone of us has had the support of marshals to get us to where we are today, so no worries about getting stuck!
Kumar as always, a very safe and nice track taken, with just a hint of adventure for the newbies! Always great to support one of the best DO lead marshals who also happens to be the person who taught ( and still does) me to lead!
See you all next week!
Trip report, al faqa.
All members gathered at the emarat petrol pump at 9:00 am before being led by sir to the al faqa mosque. The convoy was divided into intermediate and newbie++.
Abdullah then sprang a suprise on me, asking me to lead. 2nd lead was sultan, followed by puniamor, mahaan, shekhar, musbah and then abdullah and yousef.
Started off easy tracing a route to the heart of al faqa and then routed back to the adnoc petrol pump, so that the convoy could get a prayer break, no stucks along the way.
Regrouped to lead the drive again, with mahaan being replaced by rahul.
Had some trouble finding the way through the camel farms, and we got to see racing camels.
We did a bit more sidesloping until I got my first stuck jumping a crest, which was quickly pulled out by abdullah.
We were making good time, and then sir decided to show us a side stuck rescue and how to fix a poput.
After quickly winching him out and fixing the poput re-routed back to adnoc.
Enjoyed every minute of my first official lead in al faqa and look forward to many more.
CONGRATS GANESH! LONG TIME OVERDUE!!!

Hey Andy,
I would agree with Zarir, because I can’t see any connection from the front bumper to the subwoofer, unless the wires behind your sound system have been messed up. Here’s a link to the FJ owners manual and diagrams for you.
