Khalil at his home ground Al Faqqa…. what else to expect. Awesome drive!!! It was a perfect short convoy to explore the challenging terrains of Al Faqqa. Thanks Musbah, Carl, Rein for the great company. Indeed it was a worth morning to spend at sands ๐ ๐ ๐
I was very happy to have such a nice drive after a long break. Thank you very much, Khalil :thanks:As explained during the drive briefing it was a fast paced drive. But we made Khalil to slow down often due to few repeated attempts at tricky patches ๐ But I would like to highlight the point that everybody accepted and executed Khalil’s challenges very safely – never fought with gravity and also drove with the vehicle weight in good control.
As Musbah stated, Khalil was teaching the convoy how to handle crests at different angles and side slopes…. few hesitated #-o #-o #-o but managed safely on reattempt :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: On all such tricky spots, Khalil was turning back and had a close look at the convoy. Ensured everybody was doing good and accordingly adjusted the drive level… amazing job bro! :ymhug:
Musbah, you did a good job with your monster. Its not a joke to manage that monster in those steep climbs, drops and sharp turns :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: I loved the crawl control system “Computerized Recovery” ๐ฎ
It will be simple and plain to state Carol aka CCG with his little monster ruled all dunes :-BD :-BD :-BD except may be one ๐ Good job and great convoy support mate :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
Rein was my lead being second last car in the convoy ๐ good job bro! You were in full control of your car on those tricky climbs and crests.. very good job :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:Thank you all for the wonderful drive and company :thanks: Look forward to see you soon in sands ๐
I was finding it hard to balance my car as it was getting thrown to sideways with the weight. Had to adjust alot to manage those crests and side slopes. Went to garage straight after the drive and was shocked to see the broken rear sway bar (stabilizer bar). After effects of two back to back crest cutting drives :-ss :-ss :-ss So luck favored me today to execute the game safely :YMPRAY:
Belated wishes Dada!!!
Your birthday…. wishes through forum……. mere formality for me!!! ๐ ๐ ๐
What prompted me to write was seeing your “1000” post……
Recall – calculate how much time you spend here :-@ :-@ :-@ :-@ :-@ :-@ :-@ :-@ :-@ :-@ :-@ :-@ :-@ :-@
I know, what will be your reply…. ๐ took some time to realize….. already switched to silent mode =)) =)) =))Congratulations Iqsaan for being Member of the Week :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
Apart from being a good offroader, your attitude to accept mistakes and learn from mistakes is commendable, buddy. And that really reflects in your fantastic performance. :-BD :-BD :-BD
Very long way ahead for you ๐ ๐ ๐
Keep up the good work and drive safe :drive: :drive: :drive:Awesome!!! Deflation and inflation is not going to be an issue? :))
Well, I think these machines will eradicate in future the skill requirement of our game :-ss

That gives me a couple of hours family time before heading out again in the afternoon around 2pm.
SAND BUGS!!! :ymsmug: :ymsmug: :ymsmug: :)) :)) :))
Indeed, it was an awesome evening with around 35 cars and almost all DO Marshals were in action, led by the Chairman himself :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
Amazing drive reports from Dada ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^ and Iqsaan :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: along with the feedbacks of Davidoff, Hongbin, Himanshu, David and Mehboob summarizes the whole event and the fun we all had :-BD :-BD :-BD ๐ ๐ ๐
Khalil and Myself were assigned to support Lead Marshal Saif and his newbie convoy ๐ Ofcourse, it was not all an easy task to take first timers and newbies to Ghost Town as the terrain sometimes proves hard for even the experienced :-ss I should say, Lead Marshal Saif made the task look easy by carving an excellent safe track according to the skill level of convoy members. Great job buddy ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^ :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
Since Khalil took charge to support the convoy at middle, I was relatively free at the far end of the convoy. But enjoyed that position as I got it after a long break and a little freedom to play around ๐ Now I can very well guess why our SIR in capital letters is always obstinate for this position.
@SIR:- you can expect one more claimant for your favorite position in coming drives =))Drive was relatively smooth with few hiccups and a perfect newbie drive at a tough terrain. We had few tricky recoveries including couple of winch recoveries and a popout. But we managed to reach Ghost Town first among the 3 convoys and just in time before dark. That was an amazing timing!!!! :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: Believe me, if it had got dark, the game would have been entirely different ๐
It was nice to see the Ghost Town completely filled up with DO cars….. ๐ Had nice BBQ session, good chit chat and finally I had to leave by around 8.30pm marking a good end for another successful offroading day :-BD. Good to know the Campers had a good drive as gift from Dada, the next day morning :-BD ๐ :ymapplause:
Imran was really good at second lead :-BD
Hongbin and Leo did a nice job apart from few minor stucks :ymapplause:
Beautiful King was readily available with full recovery kit for any support :-BD and also drove nicely :ymapplause:
I think the Jeepers – Norbert, Avinash, Thom, Max took the task little light and got few surprises ๐ but good and disciplined driving guys :ymapplause: Ericson with his Pajero caught hold of the game very quickly :-BD.
It was awesome to watch Shauna in full control of her monster Amarada, very good job :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:So many participants for the drive and till now only a very few casted their drive feedback ๐ :(( Come on… its your forum and you are most welcome to cast here your feedbacks :ymhug:
See you all very soon and look forward to drive many more with you :drive: :drive: :drive:
quote bubban:Hello DO’s,Can anyone recommend a good workshop that can install new suspension/shock absorbers for a Prado 120 series? don’t mind paying extra if the job will be done correctly.
:thanks:
Hey Amin, I am not sure about your idea – whether you are looking to replace the stock suspension / shock absorber with another one or an uplift? If your idea is for an uplift, I differ a little :-ss
I am having Prado 120 series (2009) and I started serious offroading in that lovely offroad car :-BD. I could do this game safely for about 3 years with that stock car, without damaging it. Well, Prado 120 series is an amazing offroad car with a high centre of gravity. An uplift will make it unstable on high dunes and crests unless its in very experienced hands. Having said so, its quite bumpy at uneven terrains which can damage its bumpers. Replacing the suspension / shock absorbers with stiff type may be a good solution than an uplift…….. Just my two cents, decision is always yours ๐
About your question for a good garage. I can refer a genuine 4×4 specialist mechanic, who is an extreme offroader and very very reasonable for all mechanical requirements and minor alterations. I trust this guy and he has been the “turbo charger” for my camels since a very long time ๐ :-BD
