Hi Bernardo,
Can you sign me up for the intermediate drive please?
Thanks
Stuart
Hi,
Bought a snorkel and a dual battery kit – ready for camping. I’ll be going back for seat covers when i next pass by.
I had full steel Rugged Ridge bumpers on my Jeep JK and passed RTA every year at the strict Al Barsha Centre, simply by fixing 2 rubber blocks where the shackle mounts were. No problem, as long as they stick out further than lights, fairlead, whatever.
I drive a 2009 3.8 JK Wrangler 4 door and it goes most places the FJs and newer Wranglers can go.
That being said, I have added a 2.5″ lift and modified the gearing in the diffs to 4.88 from the stock 3.73 which transforms the performance.
It costs about AED 5k to do all that properly.
I must admit that most other mods on JKs are designed for US rock crawling where weight doesn’t matter. In the desert, try to keep the weight down and you’ll be fine!
That’s awesome!
Thanks very much, Marshalls!
Special mention to my agent, my stylist and to Simon for laying on the early Friday drives and giving me the chance to “get out there”
Cheers, Stuart
I drive a 2009 3.8 Wrangler Unlimited automatic and it gets me most places the FJs can go.
Ok, I retuned the engine and regeared the diffs to 4.88, which gives it a bit more pep, but the steel bumpers, winch and big tyres soak some of that up.
One day I’ll upgrade to a 3.6 but for now I get all the fun I need for not much money.
And my ac works just fine! Look after the scheduled maintenance and you won’t go wrong.
Sorry I mssed the drive, guys! Looks like a doozey!
See you next weekend hopefully!
Thanks for the drive Simon and for some opportunities to refresh my self-recovery and assisted recovery techniques. Damn that ridge!!!!!! It shall forever be known as Twin Peaks! 😉
Couple of weeks off now but looking forward to more drives in June.
Cheers fellas!!
Great 1 star + drive. Challenging for some and fun for all. Loving the Friday morning sessions. Cheers Simon!
