    Hi Joe,

For the BBQ, do we carry the Firewood etc, or do we get a chance to stock up somewhere in between.

    Cheers,

Dont think will there be any issues. I deal with american flooded cars. Even an infinity sedan does not hv any mechanical issues except for electrical after flooding untill seats. This is a four wgheel. Technically should not be an issue

    Ok. Thank you.

Good morning Mr. Ahmed, is it ok to change drivers for some time. Maybe if a certain stretch is plain or relatively easy for a Newbee.

hello offroaders! will there be a road that you cross on this path where people can leave early if they don’t want to continue?

Yes please, is there an option for exit at lunch time or so, in case ppl want to join in for 1 part of the day.

Meeting point: my experience of immigration counters (both exit at UAE and entry at Oman) while coming over from Dubai on long weekends was never good due to the big crowds that usually head to cross the border. one of these locations will definitely have a long queue. you may be little lucky since you are planning to be there by 7.30.

I therefore suggest you guys not to wait for each other at Tawi Nizwa shops. Rather keep driving to Hatta border, finish UAE exit; move over to Oman visa and stand in queue. the obvious advantage of doing this is even if you are able to finish your visa before others arrive, wait for them in the AC environment and have a coffee rather than being at Tawi Nizwa.

in fact, what we use to do was to procure our visa and stand in the queue again to swap places with the late comers; provided it doesn’t ๐Ÿ˜‰ encourage anyone to come late.

Food once out of Muscat, we will be on our own. we therefore have to plan for all meals/drinks/Fuel etc from 2Pm Thursday – 4pm Friday.

BTW, I heard someone’s going to join us at the campsite on Friday morning. He can be made to being a trailer full for us from Muscat :)) .

I reckon that’s a good Suggestion & something which obviously comes from experience…so…the meeting point changed to Oman Visa area on the Hatta border.

Great, Sounds Perfect. So see you all on Thursday.

Can we have a list of Mobile Nos we can contact while we are at the border.

    – in case you decide to carry some non-Shariah compliant drinks, please take care to stack them deep inside the cargo area

    – please do not keep your walkie-talkie on the dashboard or hang it on your neck while at customs post. Even on the highway, please use the radio in case of real necessity only. Tolerance level of Royal Oman Police[*] for these devices is far lower than Dubai police

    – the tolerance level of speed radars on the route is only 14 kms over the displayed limit. it clicks if you are 15km above the max speed. though a fair %age of radars outside Sohar and Muscat do not ๐Ÿ™‚ work all the time, but you never know which location turns out to be bad for you.

    Very good Info ๐Ÿ™‚

Where is the meeting point ?

    Cost:
UAE exit stamp: 35AED, Oman visa: 50AED.

Small clarification on the exit stamp fees bit…I believe this is applicable only while exiting from Buraimi & Mezyad borders & not at Hatta? Unless the rules have changed for uniformity lately ๐Ÿ˜•
Any which case it will be wise to carry additional 35 bucks per passport ๐Ÿ˜€
Please note that only cash is accepted & don’t expect a receipt in return ๐Ÿ˜€
Make sure both your passport & UAE residency are valid for not less than 3 months. Mine is not, i’m taking a chance :-$

    Hey Razick,
Cool, just a bit of doubt. South Asian Nationality ? and where can i get info about Visa eligibility.
I have been to Oman twice earlier by road but not sure through which border. is there anywher we can check the eligibility.
    Cheers,
    Leo
