That winch is a useful bit of kit indeed.
Cheers guys for the run out and excellent as always Marshalling . A great convoy on Friday . I think we had just about everything come our way in the day and we got through it all..

Great to receive my first star. Thanks to all the Marshals and sweep teams for all their support and understanding on every drive. :ymparty: You have been inspirational in my improvement and keeping me and the others safe on your drives.

Such a great group of people and i think i can speak for the others who have been graded up to 1 star and 2 stars. I can honestly say the reason i am a better driver but with still plenty more to learn is because of this dedication week in and week out by the teams and the directions and advice given. I enjoy every Friday ………A big thank you! :ymhug:

I would especially like to thank Joe Z for the valuable advice and correction both technically as a fellow Pajero driver and pushing me to lift my driving skills and decision making Thanks man! :yesss:

I d also like to thank my Mum and Dad and anyone else that knows me. ๐Ÿ˜€

Great drive today . Thanks Jo and team. Learned a lot today about myself and the car again . Some wicked sloping , cresting and another pop out expertly dealt with by the Marshalls. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Neasboy and Neil, both of you mentioned my name in the trip report but I was not on the drive. I believe it was Jatin who was sweeping as he also drives a silver X ๐Ÿ™‚

Sorry John. Cheers to jatin 😃

This trip is closed. We have reached capacity. Don’t fret; we can always do another one for anyone that has missed it.

Hi Matt looks a great trip, just out of interest how many is full capacity?

The closest wadi for swimming is Showka. I was just there yesterday and the pools are full. You can cliff jump but no waterfall. Fossil Rock desert area just down the road.

Wadi Shis/Chees & Wadi Maidaq are probably flowing now but I cannot guarantee.

Wadi Madbah has waterfall and will most likely be full (this has desert close by too).

Wadi Damm definitely has copious amounts of water as would snake gorge and the chains (these are more than 2-3 hours away though)

Enjoy your trip and happy exploring!!!

You must have been early as we were there from 1.30pm. We must have justed missed you!

Wadi Damm is excellent. I have been canyoning there. You can walk around or swim and trek. It has everything. End to end is around 3 to 5 hours walking swimming etc depending on abilities.

Great drive today . Thanks Joe and Simon for a great technical drive pushed the newbies to the max . Lots of side sloping, crests , and good pace.
Had my first pop out so great to see the demo from Joe. I think everyone found it really useful and informative. To be told we were driving like fewbies is a great credit to all the group today ..well done all

@Intermediate/advanced guys, please make sure you arrive with a full tank of fuel – don’t floor it from the last gas station to the meeting point ๐Ÿ˜‰
We might take a longer (more fun) route this time. If you have Jerry cans at home, a 20L can should be more than enough – this is not necessary but whoever has one, I advise you to get it.
    See you all tomorrow!

Enjoy !! this little hint will make me regret even more the fact I am not able to make it… so enjoy double for those who can’t be there !

    Have a safe drive! :drive:

Sebastien me too.. All i keep telling myself is there will be other great days out
    :(( :(( :((

This trip was amazing! Matt thanks for letting me come along.

I have some photographs for viewing, full credit to my wife who spent 8 hours yesterday cleaning and editing the photos. View here http://www.elenamcmullanphotography.shutterforge.com/albums/The-highest-dune

For the guys on the trip, I’m loading into a drop file ~500 photos at full resolution you can download. I will send you the link hopefully later today. I also took videos on my iphone, ping me direct if you want those forwarded.

Again, really appreciate the planning and leading on this trip Matt. People pay top dollar to experience things like this…

Below is a taster, picture of the biggest sand dune in the world:)

Mate beautiful photos. Great work by your wife and some awesome scenery…Jealous to the max. Hope to join the next one
